yeah i didn't know she didn't actually write any of her stuff until last night. oh my, i cannot stand that song, and i don't think she should have won all of those awards. personally bruce springstein should have won every single award last night. no really.

and the performances. avril needs to learn how to work a crowd like woah. i hate how she just stands there and sings (badly).

coldplay. wow, the most amazing performance of the night, the best.

the clash tribute also ties with coldplay as being the coolest performance of the night.

whatever. the grammys are a fucking sham. if somebody gave me a grammy, i'd wipe my ass with it.

if i were a muscian and by some act of god i happened to win a grammy i'd be so fucking ashamed to own it. i wouldn't go to the show and i wouldn't do some stupid video thing either.

the grammys = fucking garbage. juno's too.

The grammys blew!

I agree.....I think it sucks how the performers all seem to win the respective award as soon as their done. Next year, I'm looking to see who performs when its all announced, then I'll know who wins.

At leat 'Em did well.....Avril got skunked, that ruled

Any of ya watch the pre-Grammy show on "E!"???? Avril was such a freakin bitch, I cant stand the girl now. I hope Jeremy or Steve gives her and her band the backhand.

Congrats to Norah.....and critics said nobody would sweep this year. Another Alicia Keys. Next year Norah won't be up for a single award. Just watch?

Perhaps Norah's hit song will be written by herself (or at least partially) next time around.

I'm out....

Shoot....you're making me think now.

Oh....for one: when asked when she wanted to pursue her dream as a singer she said "Umm I was born knowing....." she said more but picture it a snotty reply

Then they asked her "but at what age did you know" and she was like "ummm I told you I was born to sing"

One of the guys in the band.....when they told Avril and the guys they liked the whole vintage look he was like "I know that's another way for later on saying that we look like crap".

Whatever.......tools, be happy you got OLP opening for ya.

Actually, she did write her first hit...the title track "Come Away With Me". Although I love "Don't Know Why", CAWM is much better IMHO.

I love Robin Williams. Always have. That was definitely the best part of the entire show. :D

Here's a link for more about the Juno's:

http://www.juno-awards.ca/site/homepage/homepage.php

She's under these categories:

Single of the Year with: Blue Rodeo, Celine Dion, Our Lady Peace, and Sam Roberts

Fan Choice award with: Diana Krall, Celine Dion, Nickelback and Shania Twain .. she has good chances there

Album of the year with: Our Lady Peace, Daniel Bélanger, Celine Dion, and Shania Twain .. good chances there too

New Artist of the year with: Shawn Desman (), K-OS (:wtf:), Sam Roberts and Sarah Slean .. again good chances there.

Oh and Pop Album of the year, so that's 5 nominations I guess with Jarvis Church, Emm Gryner, Amanda Marshall and Alanis Morrisette

The Grammys get worse each year, Though i personally like FF, system shouldve won, and plus these shows are all about pop, rap, r&b. Atleast the juno's have Talented performers and worthy award winners. Plus it has damn funny canadians what else could you ask for.

I know Keys hasn't released album #2 yet.....wasn't really going against her or anything. Just saying it seems a bit ironic. Maybe its just me.....I dunno. Blah...

Every song she released after Fallin' didn't do half as well as that single did. I think she released 2 more, I don't even know what they were.

The only saving grace to last year's Junos was the Barenaked Ladies hosted, and they did a fantastic job.

They obviously reflect sales and not quality, else Spiritual Machines would have taken all 3 of of it's primary nominations.

my complaint is that neither the junos nor the grammy's recognize artists who don't move massive volumes of units.

john mayer was nominated for best new artist at the grammys? new? he's been around for some four years! he's only "new" to top 40.

it's ridiculous. there were hundreds of albums released this year that were way better then anything nominated for the junos or the grammys and none of them got a nod. it's a trophy of conformity and elitism. who cares about it, then?

to me it's just as dumb as when US sportscasters call the superbowl champs the "world champions" despite the fact that they've only played american teams. it's just presumptious to assume that no other nation could beat the superbowl champions at football, or to assume that if you haven't sold 5 million records you're no good.

It's the same with all awards shows. There are extremely good actresses and actors that will never get an Oscar because they aren't in the big block-buster flicks.
