a lady came to my school on wensday...

Post by tasha »

and this is what happened :)

she was some motivational speaker. we had an assembly. She once had a TV show called "spill your guts". she was telling us about it. Some of the first words out of her mouth were: "One of the first bands I ever interviewed was Our Lady Peace. I was backstage at edgefest talking with Mike Turner (here is where i gasped and nearly fell out of my chair. this was unexpected lol), when he said that one of his biggest issues growing up was self esteem".

then the assembly went on.. she talked about more celebrities, self esteem, etc. then she showed a video with clips of celebrities, and Duncan was on it for a second, but there was a song playing over him so you couldnt hear anything.

then, again, later, she said "one of the smartest band members i've ever met was Duncan from Our Lady Peace (by this point i was hoping shed say something about htem again so i could cheer... and i did... really loud.. i was the only one. lol). He told me that he never set really high goals. He said he broke down big goals into smaller ones. His goal was to become a rock star, so he broke it down into 6 steps. 1)learn to play the guitar. 2)get a band 3)get a record deal ..." and i forget what else she said about him, but my face was kinda like :wtf: because Duncan plays the guitar and all...

so yeah. thats my exciting day at school :P
best assembly ever, lol
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Well that is how I have been working. I've been playing the guitar for a few months now, and the bass seems so much easier now after working on the acoustic guitar for a while.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
