Hands Down > Ender Will Save Us All > Rest of the Dashboard songs > Swiss Army Romance

j/k it's a great song too...just not nearly as good as Hands Down.

i really cannot stand screaming infidelities. i dont see why it was so wildly popular, probably because mtv played it like on every show.

also cant stand the donnas. you should delve more into the classics, besides for just relatively new bands.

and really, you shouldn't be forcing your boyfriend to change. although it is nice to show him some different music types.

OK, I guess I posted all those songs for no reason at all, but super. If you're trying to get a guy to like "punk" music from rap, you should really think that something super poppy will not work. The whine from Dashboard Confessional will drive him away. I am telling you, if you want to win him over, get something by Alkaline Trio, it's harsh and guys like it.

but he sounds like a "I listen to 'cool' music" kinda guy. So you might be better off to starting him with something close to what radio stations/music videos would play so he gives it a chance and go from there.
He might listen to alk3 with a pretty closed mind and decide he doesnt like it after twenty minutes

Sorry Alan. I don't think he is the kind of guy that likes harsh stuff. I asked him why he liked the songs he likes he said good beat=good music.. i said good lyrics=good music. Yes, he is 13. I'm going on a limb and I'm not even sure he'll like poppy punk but it's what most guys his age start off with, I guess. You know the whole blink 182 was my first punk band thingy. :freak:

Ahhh, the good ol' days. My first punk band was The Suicide Machines. Then it was NFG, then I just kinda fell into the whole Vagrant world, and I love it.

Umm no Liam. I like my music, thank you very much. Anyways, I already listen to the Beatles.

don't worry. emo is taking over the world. soon your boyfriend will have no choice but to listen to it. "emo" bands created by major labels will soon rule the radio airwaves. the midwest is rising.

hey but wait, if you really want him to listen to sweet music, try introducing him to the pillars of modern kick ass music.

the velvet underground/lou reed. lou reed is responsible for everything good in music today, except for
sonic youth. they are responsible for everything good in modern indie music today except for
badly drawn boy. damon gough is a fucking genius. in 20 years, people will be talking about how he has influenced music so dramatically. he is the most relevant artist recording music right now.

any well rounded music collection should contain samples from each of these artists. i would recommend

vu - the velvet underground & nico. it's new [ kind of ]. and good.
sonic youth - daydream nation. classico.
badly drawn boy - the hour of the bewilderbeast. awesemo.

o yeah. you should also make him listen to our lady peace. i hear they're alright.
