Hmmm, I get to name of music you should listen to. I will keep this Alkaline Trio free, seeing that you kinda want to know of music you probably don't listen to. If you haven't heard of Bright Eyes, you haven't been on the board, and if you haven't heard of Radiohead, you haven't been breathing for the past 8 years. I will try to name off some obscure bands, but it's tough.
Flaming Lips:
She Don't Use Jelly
Do You Realize?
Fight Test
Home Town Hero:
Bleeds In Blue
Eighteen
12 Ounce
Who's To Say?
Riley Joe
Koufax:

Saturday's Alone
Adultery
Simply Passing Time
Hot Water Music:
Bleeder
Freightliner
Rooftops
Lucky Boys Confusion:
City Lights
Fred Estaire
The Cure:
Exploding Boy
Close To Me
Friday I'm In Love
Just Like Heaven
The Early November:
Sunday Drive
Ashala Rock

I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

Silverchair, darn it.
Here's a player, so you can preview all the tracks on their newest album:
Diorama
Everyone should click that link. Frigging Atlantic's promotion of that band is absolutely unforgiveable. The album's just... god. It's so sad how little exposure it's gotten in just about everyplace in the world (other than Australia).
Is that song obscure? I'm really curious. Cos, my local "modern rock" station plays it quite often... and I was wondering if that was only around me. They seem to play a lot of stuff that's considered pretty old/obscure in other parts of the country. I love Y100.
