oh well
i still had fun. I didn't have quite the experience you guys did but still I enjoyed myself. I know somewhat how you feel though, I didn't wanna hear OLP or think of anything OLP for 2 months after Buffalo. It's surprising how much a bad concert experience can change your opinion of a band.

As much as the concert wasn't amazing it was still great to get to hang out with you guys for a while before hand. You guys scared the shit out of my gf though  when I went to grab the tickets from in the CAB I guess you guys asked her if she was here with Jim, and that through her off cause she didn't know how you guys knew I was there cause I forgot to explain to her the whole CM thing.
Hopefully another concert will come our way and it'll be a lot better.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

I've done the same thing before .. wait 7 hours for a show just to get front row in the freezing cold, but you bring that on yourself. It makes more sense to just get 1 or 2 people to hold the line while the others wait in the car or something and then just keep switching it up now and then so everyone stays warm. It's really not worth standing around for 8 hours. I always manage to get front row but then I'm shoved aside eventually and that just pisses me off more so I don't bother anymore.

From what I heard from a friend of mine who's somewhat close to the band .. Steve and Jer were sick, and now Raine is sick .. plus didn't they fly from Newfoundland or whatever? I think everyone who went to this show should just be happy they performed at all considering how crappy they've been feeling lately. I do agree that the band should have at least sent someone out earlier to let the fans know nobody was coming out. Also it makes a lot of sense that people like Rich and Shelley were allowed in over the rest of the fans .. they've done a lot for OLP and for OLP's fans.

lol , nice avatar, and for all those rochester complainers, please stop, anyone who stands in the cold for 8 hours or whatever, brings it upon themselves.

That was harsh. I duno, it is upsetting and they should have acknowledged you at least, that was rude. But personally, I don't think I would be going outside if I didnt have to, especially if you're sick and drained. It's the end of this leg of the tour, I'm sure they just need a break. The UConn show wasnt the greatest either. Raine didnt sound his best, didnt talk much during the show, and it was pretty short. I honestly think (hope) it's just because they weren't feeling it

altho this isnt the same thing.. its very similar as to how life on the bus must be when ppl start gettin sick..
over the holidays.. my family moved into a new house and had a house warming party and all that jazz..
we had family fly in from around north america basically..
my bro got sick b4 all of this at school in florida, my aunt spent some time with her sons family in seattle and got the flu from one of her grandsons, her husband flew in from nova scotia to spend time with their other son and grandchildren in new haven, conn, he got sick from his one of his grand daughters.. my aunt flew from seattle to new haven, they both came to florida, i had an uncle and cousin come in from ohio.. my lil cousin was sick too.. and finally my aunt, uncle and cousin came in from texas.. my aunt was slightly under the weather after spendin a week in houston on some sorta work

basically all of these ppl stayed at my parents place in florida.. all of the germs and what not when you throw 11 ppl and 1 dog together in 1 house will combine and mutate.. my 'rents house is larger than a bus.. and for that reason it took longer for these things to incubate.. my dad, mom and bro are still feeling the effects of the superbug that our house so nicely created..
for a bus however.. it would not take too long.. dont forget they met ppl all along the way.. with the soundcheck winners and everyone else they interact with along the way...
its very easy for the guys to get sick and like everyone is saying.. they were sick.. sure it'd been nice of them or atleast send someone to say they wouldnt be talking or whatever but as someone who has done a lot of stuff that is physically demanding and draining in the past such as long distance running.. i for one do know what its like to be tired and to be able to THINK "sure i can still do that" then when it comes time to doing it.. you hit a wall.. when you hit one of these walls.. you dont have control of what you do.. im sure the guys were tired and not feelin great after the show but they stayed to talk to whoever.. after talking im sure they did intend to atleast say hi or whatever but they very easily couldve hit "the wall" and just passed out.. theres also the fact that in these cases.. THEY dont have complete control over what they do.. ie. villanova.. steve WANTED to come out and talk but was not allowed to .. they had to goto the next show.. the bus HAD to leave.. we dont know what went on behind the scenes and shit.. so blaming THEM isnt fair without knowing all of the facts..

maybe the band just pretended not to see/hear you guys because they didn't want you to think they were better than you for not coming out, so they just acted like they didn't know you were there.

why would steve give you two picks if he was better than you?

and i know just last week raine talked to rob for a while.

well if steve is such a bad guy these days, why would he give you picks?

and for the other part, if steve and jeremy would have looked up while they were in that room and never came out to meet the fans, you guys probably would be pissed because they saw you and didn't come out. so maybe they were doing what they thought was best by pretending to not know you are there.

yeah. I just hope this whole thing gets explained to me sometime soon.

And corey: yeah, I wouldn't go outside if it was freezing either. BUT, they were in this lobby type thing, so I don't understand why they just didn't let us in.

Whatever. Everything is still an enigma to me.

oh, and Jim: Sorry that I scared your girlfriend. I didn't mean to. I thought she knew about the whole cm thing.

god damnit.

I hate my luck.

Hey Bethany,

Sorry to hear you are all olp'ed out. But one thing I can tell you is that the security gaurds were lying by saying they were too tired to come out (not surprising as they usually do lie to clear crowds), as they eventually did come out. We actually overheard someone tell Raine that he could take a back way out to avoid the crowd, but he refused by saying, "No...I must go out and talk to the fans". By this point, the other band members had already left and were signing things and taking pictures. I do realize it could of been sooner as you were all freezing, but the reason they were inside so long is that they had several interviews to conduct in that back room that they were coming in and out of.
