el oh el
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

I agree with him partly, but I still say its a damn solid album that's a lot more consistent than most albums I hear......(thinks back to Everclear's new song...........shudders) But, OLP can do better......

people who write reviews are ignorant...maybe they dont know olp have worked their ass off for 10 years and have enough money to live a million time better then we could before gravity. Gravity was not a get rich quick scheme otherwise they would have stopped touring already like these bands that tour two months out of the year. People should do research and not only listen to Somewhere Out There....though i still think gravity is pitiful this review is just as pitiful.

I think for the sixth album, OLP is going to team up with Slayer and fuck us all up.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

I dont agree completely with that review. Mainly because he seemed to single out Gravity because of Rock, and rant about how "the rock machine" must be stopped. To me it seemed like he wasnt reviewing gravity as much as banging on Bob Rock.

Rob, while they're at it, they should just hook up "wit" Nelly and the St. Lunatics. They can so a Hot In Herre cover. I just pictured OLP covering Hot In Herre.... Ooooo good times..

I don't think its much of a secret that OLP have wanted to be pop stars. Every career move they've made reflects this. With Rock, they've at least achieved part of their goal. If you check out that recent interview with Raine, he admist that OLP were going to break up if they didn't make it with this record. But apparently, Steve re-vitalized the band and Rock's single went huge. Blah, blah, blah I'm sure the money had nothing to do with it. You are so artistically fulfilled with OLP that you have 9 other projects on the go at once.

My thinking is, if their next record is not a #1 or does not have #1 single, we'll see the end of OLP and Raine will go off to produce and mogulize not unlike his mentor Arnold Lanni.

no raine said if they didnt switch guitarists they saw no future of the band. they said nothing about if gravity did bad they would break up. Truthfully Gravity did pretty crappy for all the promotion Somewhere Out There got.

but they definitely did increase their fanbase in the US. heck, i started listening to them because of gravity. now that i have heard all of their other work, i know its not their best work, i just see it as a marketing tool.

Just play random chords. It'll sound fine.

:wtf: you're really smart.*impressed* i never even though of that, but it sure doe smake sense.
