Nirvana isnt over rated. While i dont love Nirvana i respect them, and understand how much of an influence they had on rock today. Nirvana ushered in a new kind of rock, which hundreds of bands are still trying to emulate even today.

i just started listening to nirvana again a couple days ago

i like kurt's voice a lot.

i do think they're slightly overrated though.
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

No way are they overrated! IMO, Incesticide is one of the best albums of all time. They didn't put their best stuff on the new one. I didn't even buy that because I refuse to pay like 18 bucks for one song (as I have all the others) especially when they are tentatively planning a box set which will most likely have You Know You're Right (maybe a live version or something) + tons of other rareities that I don't already have. The new album is a ploy by Love to get money...it certainly was NOT released for the fans!

I lover nirvana. And what i liked is that you said you liked Kurt's voice alot, because my brother's the lead singer of his band and most of the comments they get say that he sounds like Cobain.

Cobain would have loved the whole downloading thing. I could honestly see him doing something like releasing something new on JUST the internet.

Nirvana Overrated??? NO WAY. I'm 20 and I think that Nirvana is the greatest band Ive ever heard. I also think that Kurt Cobain is the greatest artist in the music history. And you guys are right, if there were internet in the early 90's, maybe he would be still alive.

no one really said anything that offensive.
they are expressing their opinions just like you.
my opinion would be that they aren't overrated.
they made really good music and deserve credit for it :)

kurt/nirvana was perhaps the most influential musical genius of the 90's along with jeff buckley and he is overrated.

he is not but he should be damnit...he has influenced many of bands included OLP. I dont know I think that is music that no one will ever match, but he had to go walk into water and die.

about cobain.

i don't know.

i can't really articulate what i want to say right now.

a lot of people say pinkerton was the beginning of this new wave of emo. how come he's not getting cobain-like recognition?
