People Who Have Only Heard Of OLP From Gravity

Post by Fat Tony »

I don't have a problem with those ppl at all what I do hate is that most of them only assume that OLP have been around for like a year, just because they're too freaking ignorant to know that OLP have 5 ALBUMS, NOT 1 OR 2! For example recently a friend of mine wore an OLP T-shirt to school and a guy said to him, "How did you get an OLP T-shirt? They've only been around for like a few months." The same thing applies for Nickelback, just because Nickelback are more successful now then they've ever been doesn't mean that they've been around for one year and realesed only one album! I know I might sound like a real whiner but it just bugs me!

what's funny is that you two live in Canada.

Our Lady Peace lost a significant part of their fanbase.

Well I see where you're coming from Tony but some people just might not have heard of OLP through no fault of their own. It doesn't make them ignorant. Of course the real fans know there is more than one album and if they hear someone saying otherwise, they should correct them. The other person just might not have known.

It doesn't bug me at all . . . because I'm just as ignorant with pretty much every well-known US band as those people are with OLP. Most of the bands I'm familiar with come from other countries.

People discover different bands everyday .. WHEN and HOW you become a fan isn't really important I don't think

I don't care anymore. I know a few true fans here, and I think the Now 11 cd sums it up for everyone else. There are tons of real fans here, you just have to find them. I realized that when I went to the instore. It was a shock to me, as I thought I was the only one around who listened to them prior to gravity. The people who have only heard gravity don't really have truly valid opinions anyway, so it doesn't matter to me.

i just converted one of my firends into a OLP fan, he started out as just liking a few songs, then liking the singles, then just Gravity and teh singles, now he's starting to like all olp, it's cool because he's not ignorant to them anymore, I'm bringing him to the Winnipeg concert to experience OLP, it's also going to be his first concert, damn oma, not around when i'm actually doing stuff

I think a lot of people just buy what MTV2 tell them too and sadly aren't aware that there is actually a lot more music out there...
