It's almost exactly the same as the one Mike uses in the One Man Army video.

Here is the instrument I play:
Image
The Fender DG11E in Black. (I think it only comes in black actually.)

I just had new tuners put on it (great ones too) and had it just fixed up in general, it sounds great. I also have a Fender Squier Strat that I just had work done on and it sounds decent for a cheap guitar, but I'm mostly an acoustic player since its just more convenient, and easier to sing with too.

How long have you all been playing guitar? I myself have been playing for 6 years or so, without any lessons though.

I've had 4 years of lessons on top of three years without (1 before lessons and 2 after).

No. Just learn to read tab and off you go. I pretty much taught myself.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

My gear- I saved up every penny i earned to get these sweet axes...that and plus I had other guitars that I got from my cousin(2 epiphone Les pauls,3 squire strats, and a gibson acoustic-I got rid of them to purchase 3 of my guitars. The others were gifts.. The Les Paul is my pride and joy

Yes, and so is Mike's in the OMA video. Trust me. It's hard to tell because he holds it against himself, but it too is completely see through.

Want an acoustic version of Innocent? Of course you do!

D A G B A

D A
Oh, and Johnny wishes he was famous, spends his time alone in the
G B A
basement, with a lennon and a cobain and a guitair and a stereo.
D A G
And well he wishes he could escape this, but it all seems so contagious
B A G
not to be yourself and faceless in a song that has no soul. I remember
A G B
feeling low and I remember losing hope and I remember all the feelings
A
and the day they stopped.
D A G B A
We are, we are all innocent we are all innocent we are we are.
D A G B A
We are, we are all innocent we are all innocent we are we are.

The second verse is the same as the first, except you just bang on the chords hard twice each chord. Ditto with the prechorus.

For the bridge, you can use the D A G B A combo, but try and play around with the chords. I've done it and i can do the rythm and lead at the same time. It'll take some work but it's worth it. Also, the little part before the chorus starts again is a D for two bars. Have fun!
Ps. It's all tuned down half a step.
PPS. I'll work an a normal lead guitair part, but i'm lazy and it's a lot of writing, so don't get your hopes up.
Don't ask questions, just accept it.

I'm not sure that is right. Is "Innocent" also tuned down half a step?

I believe most of their songs are tuned down half a step

Yes, it has been my experience that the majority of their songs are tuned a half step down from standard. The only exception that jumps to mind is In Repair...but I know there are others.

Yeah. I believe a good 80-90 percent of their songs are tuned differently

Actually, In Repair can just be played with bar chords while tuned down a half step. That's what I do. Sounds good enough, and avoids any hassels.

I play In Repair a half step down because its easier to sing with my vocal range like that.
