OLP on Kink FM

Post by Eelco »

OLP will be on Kink FM tomorrow. I posted this in Offered is advice to you, too, but I forgot to mention the time it's supposed to begin. According to the Kink FM website the OLP session will be on between 1 and 2 p.m. (CET). That would be 7 - 8 a.m eastern time I think.

Thanks for the warning! I missed this last time.

I can't remember what this was - interview? acoustic songs? recording of the show? all of the above??

The last time OLP was on Kink FM it was just an interview, that's what you missed (in November). But before that they did a (I believe it is acoustic, but I'm not sure) session for the station. It was recorded in September, between the shows in London and Hamburg. I missed it then too, so I'm not sure what they'll play exactly.

That's really cool! We were talking to Mike in Hamburg and he said that they'd done some acoustic stuff for a radio station in Amsterdam the day before - that must be it! That Hamburg show seems so long ago now!

Here's the setlist for tomorrow's broadcast. I don't know if they'll play all songs, but this what they recorded on September 6th.

SetList:

Do you plan on recording the show directly from the radio?

I'll definitely be tuning in :)

I'm recording it directly from the radio and so is somebody else I know. She can also get it from tape to her computer so I will probably be able to share it with everyone.

It would be great if you could get it up here to share. I've tuned in, but my connection's too slow and it keeps buffering every 5 seconds (if not less).

And they did Mafia - I'd love to hear that acoustic. I hope they air that one.

They only aired three songs, Innocent, Clumsy and Bring Back The Sun. The dj announced them by saying that he was disappointed by the outcome of the session (without any explanation why) and he made himself look more stupid by calling them an American band. I shouldn't complain really, at least there was some OLP on the radio.
The songs sounded pretty good, I don't understand why the dj found it disappointing, but maybe the other four songs weren't as good. Raine said something about BBTS, that thet hadn't finished the lyrics yet when the recorded it and that was why he was mumbling some of the lines.

I had the same problem as Susie :(

That's really disappointing that only 3 songs aired, but it's definitely good to see OLP getting some more radio play here in Europe.

I saved the whole thing to my harddrive when it was on.

So, therefore, it'll be on the hub very soon... actually, right now. *hops on hub*

It's in mp3 format... dude, you guys wanna know what I went through to get this thing finished? Hahah. Well, I had set my computer to record it (can I just say I love that feature of Streambox VCR???), and I didn't know exactly when it'd be on, so I had it record for an hour. It was in wma format, so I had to find something to rip wma to wav... then I cut the hour long wav file down to just olp... then I encoded it to mp3. Took me... probably 3 or 4 hours total, if you count downloading programs that would convert from wma to wav. So, you guys had better appreciate this file! Hahah. ;)
