Post by Axtech »

If anyone has some links to very accurate OLP guitar or bass tabs, or if you have your own tabs or ways of playing OLP songs, post them up here.

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

For example, here's 4am's riff, thanks to Mr_Shugga:

e|-------0-------0--------0------0-----------------------0-----------------------0
b|------------5----------------5--------5---0------------0------0----------------0
g|---------------------------------------6---0----------------6------6-------6---0
d|--6----------------------------------------0------7---------7---------7----7---0
a|--4-----------------------------------------------7---------7---------------7----
e|--------------------------------------------------5---------5--------------------

e|-----------0-------0--------0------------------0--------------------------------
b|------5---5------------5--------5----0--------0----------0-------------------0-
g|------6----------------6--------6----0------------6---6--------6--------6----0-
d|--6-----------------------------------0---7-------7-----------------7---7-----0-
a|--4---------------------------------------7-------7----------------------7-------
e|------------------------------------------5-------5-------------------------------

I don't think that's the correct way to play 4am.

http://www.ourladypeace.cc/tab/clumsy-4am2.txt

That's how you play 4am as far as far as I can tell, it sounds perfect.

4am is a lot more complicated than http://www.ourladypeace.cc/tab/clumsy-4am2.txt . That just has chords. Listen closely to the very start of the song. True, chords work. But Mr Shugga's tab is pretty damn close. It might not be perfect, because it's probably played a bit differently every time.

well Like I said....I'm not the greatest Tabber out there. When I Tab out a song I trabscribe it the way it sounds to me.....and it takes me a ridiculusly long time too...which reeks of heinousity. :freak:
Right now I m trying to transcribe "Are You Sad" and its not going very well.

Tabbing takes a long time to do. I've attempted it before and ended up giving up.

Are You Sad is a beautiful song. I know a bit about some of it. I'd love to see how your tab turns out. :)

The whole point is that the beginning of 4am is based on those chords. You can figure it pretty much exactly using those chords (as it looks like Shugga did, since he uses the same chords, just picked differently rather than strumming them.) But if you're doing an acoustic/solo version, the way I do stuff, then playing the chords in full sounds really great.

Well lets see...I've been tryin to tab "Are You Sad" for about 4 months now....and I still cannot get it. Its starting to enrage me  I literally wanted bang my head on the cold, hard concrete to see if it would help but it didnt, but all it probably would do is give me a raging headache.
When I started I made a vow not to use exsisting tabs...now Im not so sure

Anyone have an accurate tab of Innocent?
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

Innocent is very hard to find an accurate tab for.

Here's a basic tab of it, although it's not perfectly accurate:

Yeah, I know...

For a "simple" "pop-ish" song, the guitar part is surprisingly intricate (well, the part over the chorus seems to be)

And I have no idea how to play the solo. :freak:
