Avrils set time will be only a FRACTION of what OLP could play...

Avril will burn out within a couple of years....maybe a couple more albums TOPS and nobody will give a load who she is.

But I beleive any exposure for OLP is good. When Jimi Hendrix Started out he opened for the very popy Monkeys, THE MONKEYS! and look where he is now, immortal, so it cant be that bad for OLP.

Well, to the people above who want to infer negative stereotypes about my taste in 'punk' music from my name, the only thing I have to say is that it is ironic, as another Canadian rocker-chick might tell you, that you so quickly apply the poser label to Avril or her fans.

Just because you negatively stereotype people by your skewed perception of their image, doesn't mean everyone does. I hope all OLP fans are not like you. Avril fans sure aren't. What happened to upholding the principle of the music or the artist taking priority over the image?

:sigh: oy vey, avril is just trying to get in the punk scene. if she all the sudden becomes girly, all of her girl fans will wear what she does. happened with the tie. the point is, avril is all about the image... especially with "sk8er boi" how can that not be related to image?

shes packaged.....point blank. With Vanessa Carlton and her piano and then Michelle Branch and her ACTUAL talent, it was no wonder they chose this time for Avril to crack into the scene.

She supposedly isn't into the whole "tie" thing anymore because she said the whole thing got tiring. It was sad actually seeing girls walk around upstate NY with a tie around their neck and wearing some sorta preppy sweater and khakis 'ur something

No not all of OLP's fans are assholes like it must seem to you after reading this thread .. I'm starting to feel ashamed even being a part of the CM. I'm an OLP fan and an Avril fan and I have respect for both bands .. you seem more intelligent than most of the people who have posted in this thread *applauds*
