Okay......I never though anything I read on the CC would make me cry but........it turns out that OLP are supprting Avril Lavigne on her UK tour in March! You can't see but I am crying! I NEVER EVER though I would have to go see Avril Lavigne of all people! And the worst thing is her smallest shows are sold out! And OLP are gonna be doing a smaller set and ugh! I'm sooooo pissed! I hope those aren't the only dates they play over here when they come though! Anyways.......now for more illegal activity to help me plot a way to get tickets to one of the smaller shows! Come one people! I have to go see Avril Lavigne! :(

I don't think it's that big of a deal. They'll get pretty good exposure and from what I've heard, they need it in Europe.

Is it OLP opening for Avril or Avril opening for OLP??? Anyways, I would love to see Avril opening for OLP in Canada. That would be amazing.

Yep - OLP are opening for Avril. She's getting a lot of exposure over here now and OLP are getting none at all.

And I can only get tickets for one of the dates. We're working on plans for the others though - if anyone can help, please let me know.

And if anyone knows where the Brussels tickets are on sale, that would be really helpful too!

I just hope they do some headlining shows while they're over here too. I don't know how I'll get on with only short opening ones.

Avril=totally fake

the gitar around her neck is nothing more than an accessory..a necklace, at best.

Befor eyou sya anything, I have her CD and I think it's good---too bad it's not HER music. She has as much to do with that CD as Britney/Mandy Moore have to do with theirs. Atleast Britney and co. don't pretend to be real musicians. She called hersel f"punk" and then when nobody took her sreiously, she's like "i never said that"---well, I have the magazine where she did. and then she said "well, I meant..." and bla bla bla trying to get herself out of it. I think she's a pile of shit and it sucks that OLP are opening for a pile of shit just to get exposure. Avril is as packaged as N Sync--I odn't know hwy poeple can't see that. Its just that the record execs saw that the popish thing was out so they boughther in. The pop acts now refus eto admit they are pop. its pitiful. There are plenty of other bands to help them get exposure. must it be exposure to the teeny bopper crowd? of course its not a BIG DEAL as in the end of the owrld-thats just me being dramatic, but it sucks. she's is SO packaged. they might as well open for O-Town now because they need exposure.

hey everybody, let's bitch some more
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

i don't know how to feel about this.
i mean, yea the band gets exposure over there opening for an artist like Avril, who is apparently pretty big. but, what kinda fans are they gunna get? 10 year old mini-avrils? is any exposure good exposure?
whoever said that the guitar is a mere accessory... thats true. she strums it, what..3 or 4 times in her video? this is a sad day in OLP history...

But we get to see them again without flying thousands of miles so that's a good thing.

And it will get them some good exposure - not all Avril fans are 16 year old girls (one of my friends has got her album).

I'm hoping they'll add some headlining dates in London/the rest of the UK after the Avril dates - pleeease.

Yep. Here we go. Bitching, bitching, bitching. Why? Because, one way or another, Our Lady Peace is touring in Europe. Does it really fucking matter if they're opening for another band or another singer? Really. So they don't get to play as much stuff as you'd expect. Deal with it. Would you rather they just not tour at all over there? Because, hey, they could have flipped the bird at Europe and kept on selling albums in the US and Canada only.

God, some people are never happy.

And, oh yeah: Avril has never actually referred to herself as "punk". I have never seen, read, or heard her call herself punk, and I began following her just in the wee bits of "Complicated" exploding. She's been called "punk" by many magazines, because when they see how she dresses, they can't really put any other clothing style and have it make sense.

Not to mention, even if she did, do you really think "punk" is one fuckin' universal term? She may have been a punk for her high school.

This is like bitching at people for just starting to listen to a band. "Where were you when they started, huh?" Well, they didn't have the access to that band when you did, asswipe. Not their fault.

Music is music. If you don't like it, switch a radio station. Turn off a TV. Or hell, here's a novel idea: MAKE YOUR OWN. And shove the music you don't like off of the radio. It's what Billy Corgan did.

Now, shaddup, and watch what you say before it seems that your ass is the one speaking.

Bad day? Yes.

Are people completely paranoid when it comes to music? Yes.

Let it be. Christ.

And, by the way: I would kill to see OLP and Avril in concert.
OW! She really don't like it... rock the casbah, rock the casbah!

actually, although i am upset at the lack of Canadian dates, the problem here is hardly the fact that they are going to Europe to promote themselves and build a fan base over there. avril is not that great, but she should be opening for them if anything.

I'm thinking 13 ... not 16, most 16 year olds are a good while past teenybopper-ism ..... and looking for 13 year olds might be going too far.

But anyways, I'm ashamed, how could OLP accept this act, dont they have any pride... even I'd be embarresed opening for Avril
