So let's say (hypothetically of course) we're talking about the Civic Centre in Ottawa and the Bell Centre in Montreal:
Will they search bags for cameras/minidisc recorder type things?
Will they search nice big winter coats with lots of pockets for them?
Once inside if they see you taking pictures will they not mind or politely tell you to stop or steal your camera?

Sorry for all the questions, but all the OLP concerts I've been to have been ok about taking photos and most didn't even do bag searches. But arenas are different and I don't want to lose my camera or all my holiday photos that will be on it.

It all depends if the security at the concert are assholes or not.

That would work if I had a big chest, but unfortunately I don't so it would look REALLY odd. I'm sure I'll work something out though.

Where? They're tight everywhere except at the bottom - I could hide it in my socks.

When I saw OLP at the civic center in feb 00 the security DID search you at the beginning (a pat down really), so I just hid my camera in my hood and no one knew the better. When I was taking the actual pictures (i was like second row) the security guards could care less...I was so worried at first, but after the first few pictures i realized that clearly no one cared.

So ya, I'll have my camera on feb 3rd in Ottawa! I think you'll have no problems taking pics...oh ya, Section 33, row d, seats 8 and 9 are my seats..so fourth row, which ruins my 1st row always at OLP shows thing, but oh well it's gonna be awesome!

see ya there!

If it's an arena tour they're gonna search you and your bags for sure .. if you have a hood, stick your camera in your hood .. I've been first row for quite a few concerts and they don't take your camera .. the London show my camera went flying over the barricade and the security guard handed it back to me .. and at 2 concerts we actually asked the security guards to take a pic of me and my friend and they do and give the camera right back .. so I wouldn't worry about it. The last arena tour I walked in with my camera in my hand.

I believe that was a reference to me...cause I stuck my camera down my shirt both times Rob has seen me at an OLP concert. I can say that it works if you have a small chest and you wear a baggy sweatshirt, or last time if you stick it in the middle. Then you just look like you have a uni-boob. I also have another classic move where i bring a disposable one, still in a package, and put that in my purse so that they find it, and then conceal my real camera on my body, and then they're like, "you can't have this, don't take it out of the package" or they'll take the disposable camera and not bother to check me for the real one. Security guards once you're in don't seem to mind too much, it's getting the camera in that's the problem.

I've been sticking mine down my pants forever. Wow, if taken out of context that sounds really bad. Anyway, yeah, and I wear tight pants, too. It works better that way, cos it stays where you put it. Just stick it right down the front, so it's behind your zipper. They can't legally touch you there to search you. Just make sure to stand so it's not an obvious lump, and wear a shirt that's long enough to at least cover the very top of your pants (even better if you wear a big sweatshirt or coat or something). Obviously, if you've got a HUGE camera, it won't work, but it works for any reasonable sized camera. I did it with a disposable before, and I do it with my digital (although, my digital's tiny... it's an elph). Also, if you've got a digital camera, and you're gonna hide it on your body anywhere, make sure to hide your accessories, too, or they'll know you have it. I put my memory cards and batteries in my socks (make sure to wear tall socks to do that, obviously). As soon as you get into the venue and out of seeing distance of the security at the door, you can take your camera/accessories out. Nobody that works inside really cares (from my experience, anyway). :)

I'm like the photo CIA. I sit down before concerts and come up with all these plans on how to get the camera in..like extra batteries and everything. Don't worry, all the thought beforehand will definitely pay off
