Do you hate concept albums?
After the advice of a friend that bought Queens of The Stone Age, I went out and bought it. Oh how I wish there wasn't an open cd return policy. This album is the worst not the best album of the year. I'm sick of these types of albums. OLP almost did one with Spiritual Machines, but at least that was easy to listen to. Radiohead did it not once, but twice and lost any interest that I had in them. U2 did it with Pop. Is the world of music insane?

Hahaha I had actually heard that Queens album sucked a phat one so I didn't even give it the time of day. U2's "Pop" album wasn't great....I'll agree with that. I hope you're not implying that U2 sucks now though...
You disliked Spiritual?? "Made to Heal" wasn't even made into a single but I think it had potential. I freakin LOVE that song!

Hell, I bought the Linkin Park "Hybrid Theory" cd back when it was just a concept release....and then look at the damn thing now!
I laugh at people that told me that I wasted seven dollars and some odd sense when I bought it from Target..

I loved Spiritual Machines, but I hated the science fiction aspect of it. Who the hell cares about Ray Karzwell or whatever his name was. I'm buying OLP not someone else's version of what the world looks like to them. I mean, if I wanted all that crap, I would have read the Time Machine. And U2 made up for it all with All That You Can't Leave Behind. Personally, it's my favorite album by them.

Right...I understand what you're saying. Partially I agree, and think that the idea was whack. But at the same time, I also think its interesting. I actually went onto half.com and purchased Ray's Book "The Age of Spiritual Machines" and it is very freakin interesting.....
U2's "All That You Can't Leave Behind" is amazing....between that album, both of U2's greatest hits albums, and OLP that basically takes up my cd player

I've been thinking about buying Ray's book, but never got myself to do it. just read 1984, which i've heard is similar. great book, but not as good as animal farm.

Hahaha Ray's book is EXTREMELY technical, and he uses a lot of formal language, seriously makes you think
I had to literally stop and obsorb his information every couple of pages, but in the end its an amazing book.
If ya think enough about it.....you can tell where the section of the book is where the guys got the ideas for "In Repair"

if i had to choose between olp putting out a million "concept" records that are as good as spiritual machines or another gravity, take a guess as to which one i would pick.
