I'm not. Looks like I won't be seeing them until they tour for their sixth album, since they're too fucking cool to play in Toronto anymore.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

Chill out kiddos, they played there barely a month ago.

I live four hours from Montreal. If we want to be technical, I've never seen OLP anywhere less than about 2 hours away from me.

But I'm not complaining, so neither should you. There are a few Ontario shows, and thats about as close to Toronto as they ever get to me. Theres usually a way to get to the shows......... and they've played Toronto lots, they're just spreading out their limited time.

Love, don't hate

And I already knew you were going Ted. Otherwise I'd be very dissapointed in you :)

By the time February rolls around, it will have been 4 months. Plus, the Best Buy show was just that - Best Buy's show. Not OLP's. They haven't played their own show there yet. And wtf is with this 2 week Canadian tour? 2 weeks is a full tour? And then what? Play for another few months in the US and Europe? They release a new album that makes them super popular in the States and Europe, and all of a sudden they have no time for their original fans. And they call that loyalty. Pfft.

like the old mike interview thing said,
theyre doing it for money

theyll make more money touring the states than our country
i hate it too but face it,OLP has become a very popular band now
i wish they would do a full canadian tour and go everywheres not just a few big cities and big arenas

#1, OLP play arenas there. They do small venues here. They make much more money per show there, even if it is worth very little

You guys have waaaaay less major cities than we do. It takes much longer to cover all the ground down here. We have lots more people than you do Also, the travel is easier. They can travel between cities because they are much closer together, again, covering more ground for the time spent.

They're coming there. They are coming close enough to Toronto so that no one should be too upset. Geez......you can never make everyone happy. Of course they want to make money. Think of the Club Crawl, they must have lost SOOOO much money on that tour, but they did it for the fans, and it was amazing. They can't make every tour a giant money pit or they would cease to exist.

And I also think you greatly overestimate their popularity here. There is no way this can be considered selling out. They are still nobodies for the most part here. They need to spend time building a fan base. They spent that time for years and years in Canada, and need it here now.

They're mentioned in most issues of Chart. Every radio station plays them there. They are Much's babies. They're never in Spin or Rolling Stone, radio stations play one of their songs, and MTV won't give a shit about them when SOT fades away.
They worked hard there. Now they have to work hard here. Give them a break.

 Anna, I couldn't have put it better myself. And, I just wanna add, that I'm sure their record company has a lot to do with their touring schedule. The band probably has very little say in where they're gonna be when. I mean, whenever people ask them where they'll be, they seem pretty clueless, unless the dates are set in stone. So, don't hate them cos they're in other countries so often. It's probably not their fault. :)

They're not 'super popular' in Europe. No way. We still haven't seen them on TV on heard them on the radio anywhere in the UK - not at all. And while they were playing to packed out crowds some nights, there were still under 600 people every concert in Europe apart from London. The fan base here is small but loyal and most of us have been fans for years but haven't been able to see OLP live (at least not supporting another band) until this year.

But having said that we are being spoiled at the moment with all these shows and tours and I do really feel for you guys in Canada who haven't seen them for ages either.

And isn't this topic about Montreal? I'm going to go to that show. Should be good!

I got 2nd row - north, seat 8. It was only offering me 2nd and 5th rows. I hope everyone else managed to get good seats in spite of it all being in French (I couldn't find a way to make it english)

I have a question about the venue. Everywhere says it's the Bell Centre in Montreal, but the map in my Rough Guide to Canada doesn't show a Bell Centre, but there's a Molson Centre on the same road. Is that the same place and the name's been changed?

Thanks very much. Susie
