Maybe this has been done before, who knows.

I think I'll be either drummer or bassist.

I would be the keyboardist. In fact, I WAS the keyboardist in a band, which lasted for two months. It broke up because the drummer sold her drums for drug money and the guitarist's amp broke and she couldn't afford a new one... ah well.

I would go solo that way i don't have to worry about someone bitching about not getting recognition, going solo means if someon is a real piece of shit i can fire him and no one would notice.

I'd be Guitarist/Vocalist because I'm learning guitar and although I'm not a great singer, I'm okay.

and where's the french horn option? c'mon now that's only the most versatile instrument ever. i specialize in moaning dying cow imitation. now that would be a cool sound effect. :P

unfortunately we're often assigned the shitty "um-pa um-pa" parts in marches and crap like that. but french horns rule really cool stuff like the star wars theme, Overture to Candide, Celebration Overture, and the theme from that movie The Cowboys.

If I was talented I would want to do the guitar and sing. I can shabbily play the guitar, and I am not the best of singers, so fuck my dream of being in a band.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I'd definitely like to be a guitarist/vocalist, but not the lead vocalist. I don't need to be in the lime-light, i just want to be the creative genuis behind everything.

i sing.

i play guitar.
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

it doesnt matter whether or not you can sing, or have any intonation skills, or any sense of effective dynamics, or breathe every other word because the phrase "breath support" is alien to you, you can still be the lead vocalist of a band.

oh, just to clear up a common myth, those of you who think they cannot sing and use the phrase "tone deaf" to describe yourselves, tone has nothing to do with pitch, which is what you're really talking about. unless you absolutely cannot tell the difference between a train whistle and a canary, you are not tone deaf. you could be tone lazy but thats something completely different.

also, those of you in screamo bands, if you plan on singing even amaturely for more than a year, you better plan on saving up enough money for extensive vocal surgery and therapy
