Oh, Alex, it's not THAT bad.

I hated Gravity at first too. I mean, I HATED it. But after seeing the band play most of Gravity live a few times, I like the cd a whole lot more. They add a special touch to the songs when they play them live.

I mean, when I first heard "Do You Like It?" I wanted to cry because it sounded so much like a Nickelback/Creed/Staind ripoff, but now I like the song.

Gravity definitely is my least fav album, though. Most definitely. It always will be, too.

Gravity grew on me.

I have a friend who was a big OLP fan and and is disgusted with Gravity, but he wouldn't give it some time. He's like anti-OLP now. His philosophy is "Why buy the CD and support it, so that they will make more of the same quality?"

I don't believe that. Gravity's not THAT bad.

If I had the money, I'd buy the CD, because my copy of Gravity is signed, so I don't like to use it. It's in my closet, and every once in a while I take it out and look at it. :)

I'm sort of with your friend on this one. Sure, I enjoy listening to it on occasion, when I'm in the mood for something listenable that I can put in the background or whatever. But I hate feeling like I supported Our Lady Peace by buying a crappy album. They deserve better than that.

I should've just kept my burned copy, heh.

i wouldn't say any of the songs on that album are masterpieces. i like Gravity, but i can't listen to it right after listening to one of the other ones. if you listen to it without comparing it to the other ones it's good.

I just realized something else...

A new Gravity edition means new (and possibly much better) Gravity booklet art!

i cant believe that ppl equate commercial success for a band with making crappy music......there is not one OLP song or album that i cant listen to beginning to end......why is it that as soon as they sell some records and get played on the radio and on soundtracks that ppl say the music sucks....if happiness and SM were so good then why didnt those records sell nearly as much as gravity has and will in the future......dont get me wrong, i love all the records - each one has its own touch that gets you into it.....i wish ppl would stop saying gravity sucks......if you can listen to a record all the way through then it is excellent.....not many records are like that and not many bands have 5 records that can be listened to all the way through....OLP is one hell of a talented band that always puts out good music and always will.....lets just enjoy the music...

i hope i didnt upset anyone with my rant......its just my opinion on the whole "gravity sucks" issue

(APPLAUSE)

Gravity is simple rock. Well meaning, well done. Its not as ambitious but its still a damn addictive rock album to me. Some of OLP's best songs are on it, and all of them are at least good.

^ i agree. i listen to it quite often and i do like most of the songs on it too! its not much like the other four, but then again, none of those are alike either. i think its unique and is worth listening to, especially when you compare it to what is on the radio waves these days...

Without you I'm as good as
dead ...

Right on. A simple Our Lady Peace song still feels miles above usual radio fare. They just have that dynamic that is appealing, whether its intellect-oriented themes, or emotional discovery, or even the simple catchiness of a song. Take Innocent, which is deceivingly smart despite its popish feel, seems to transcend the ideal pop song as it tends to address how the world really works without sacrificing a satisfying feeling it can bring. It puts a smile on my face every time I listen to it.
