The song's pretty much about giving in to the demands of the music industry. Selling out, I guess. Simplification of lyrics was part of that, I think. Bob Rock got Raine to make their songs easier to understand on some level. Which I think would include the removal of original, fresh lyrics and replacement with the stuff people are used to and don't need to think about to figure out what it means. Which would definitely include clichés. To me it seems like another instance of song's theme. And I'm assuming it was done consciously, because, although I haven't read through the lyrics to the entire album checking for clichés, I think that Do You Like It? is significantly more cliché-filled than most of the other songs.

Everybody keeps bitching about the record companies and everything saying how they MAKE Raine look all dreamy and shit in the SOT video. And how the decision to re-release Gravity with bonus tracks is a record company decision. Last time I checked, the band had FULL artistic-control over everything. Am I mistaken? Just trying to clarify.

nope, not always true. infact, its pretty rare now to have FULL artistic-control if im right. i may be wrong though.
