What is going on with OLP???

Post by OLPGoose »

I heard there's a new "limited edition Gravity" coming out on nov.19. this version has live songs on it(naveed and like, 3 others). my quetsion is, they say record sales dont matter, but then they put out a "special" version of the album---one that all of us will go buy. thats 2---maybe 3----copies of gravity for osme people. this seems like an obvious ploy to get record sales up. i'm kind of confused about this becausei t doesnt seem like something they would do. but at the same time, blaming the record company for everything seems like an easy way out. I'm not attacking them, I'm just wondering what's going on with them. they could have released a special live cd or osmething if they didnt want to put out another promo thing. but why rerlease a different version of gravity? if anybody can offer any explanation for this, id be glad to hear it....
i'm kind of disappointed. of ocurse, i'll probably still go out an buy it and so will the rest of you....and maybe then OLP can be, for the first time ever, certified platinum in the US. why is this so important all the sudden??

actually, they released a special edition of 'Spiritual Machines' as well. (i honestly own 4 copies of that album) however, the choice to release gravity with extra songs would most likely be the record companies idea, not the bands.

yeah,

I highly doubt Raine and crew were plotting this one out. If they were I will beat them down and you can tell them Matt Horning from Pickering said so. I'm pretty sure Sony is just captalizing on their success with this one. I would love to hear some of the tracks they left off of Gravity.........but that's only blue balls now.

well, i dont think it would have hurt them to sell more copies of SM either so if they put out a special version of that....

it does seem like a record ocmpany kind of thing to do, but it seems like we've been blaming the record company a lot lately. theyve been signed to this label for a while now and they never listened to them before and now all the sudden raine is being "less animated" for the director and allowing "dreamy blue eyes" close-ups and such during videos! i wish when raine starts that label, OLP sign to it!!!!!! god, they(the record ocmpany) are turning OLP into what OLP used to bitch about!

i will probably buy it, providing that i have money and such. and it seems like this would be a record company thing to do. are the songs that they are adding the same as that live CD thing that they put out?

i cant remember which songs---its on the OMA board somewhere and i dont remember which thread. but i remember it was nothing special---the usual, u know naveed, starseed,etc...
i'm going ot buy it, even though i already have live versions of those osngs and i'm going to get that live CD from best buy(the promo one, but theyre selling it for 1 cent) whoever it was that goes to stony brook, i'm going to the best buy there---if you odnt have it already, ill let u know if they have any left. im going on my little expedition to find the new Ours album.
wish me luck! even if i dont find it(more than likely) atleast ill get teh OLP promo thing that i have been harassing the people at FYE for!!!!

I almost regret the $7.99 I spent on Gravity, so yeah, I won't be buying it.
