Finch

Post by cor3y »

Anyone listen to Finch? I think they're an amazinggggggg band. The CD blows me away and I just saw them live - they were excellent. They're considered emo, but not the emotional stuff that Chris Carraba is all about. In other words, it doesn't make you want to cry and kill yourself. There is a lot of screaming, but it's not Slipknot-type screaming, it's different somehow... I dont know, download "What it is to Burn", "New Kid", "Waiting", "Awake" and "Without You Here" and see for yourself.

Finch fucking rocks. You should look into Perfection (Through Silence) and Post Script. Those songs are amazing, so is Letters To You. They're by far the best Drive-Thru band out there.

They're a really good screamo band, like Glassjaw and Thursday, but in a way, better.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Yea, I have the CD and those songs are amazing. Did you hear New Kid and Waiting that are on their first EP? Most people don't know about them, but I think they're close to being my favorites. There's also 2 versions of What it is to Burn. I can send any of these if you want. Also, they're going to be headlining in February, so get ready.

I am hyped about seeing them headline. Waiting is probably my second favorite Finch song, besides Post Script.

Same with Detroit. I wanted to see them a lot.

My friends sister went. She said NFG "sucked huge squirrel testicles". I wasn't aware squirrels had huge testicles.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

I love Finch they are probarly my favorite band right now. I saw them live though and I was very dissapointed. The quality was horrible compared to their cd. The lead singer forgot alot of the words and replaced them with screaming. They also have a second guitarist who has no energy at all and stands there it frustrated me. They played all my favorite songs but they didnt sound nearly as good. Has anyone listened to all 12 minutes of "Ender" it is simply amazing. I dont know if you know this but alot of the screaming on the album is done by Daryl from Glassjaw. The bands are very good friends. I hope there is a Finch, Glassjaw tour b/c that would be amazing.

Cool, I didn't know that. At the concert, the bassist was the one doing most of the screaming. I saw them Wednesday with NFG (I wanted to see them more than NFG) and I thought they were awesome, however the one guitarist (Alex) told me he thought it was their worst show ever. I personally thought they rocked, the quality wasn't bad at all (compared to Further Seems Forever) and all in all, they were great. I can't wait for the headlining tour either.

Daryl from Glassjaw only screamed on two of the songs on the cd, Project Mayhem and Grey Matter. The crazy bassist does most of the screaming. And that one motionless guitarist is in their video for "Letters To You" and does nothing except play. Takes away from the video.
