LOL I have no clue, maybe they like his bass voice which he ripped off from DMX?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

linkin park isnt metal, they are gay "nu metal" and all of those bands should be beaten
metal is bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Judas Priest
and you would never hear rap shit in any of there songs so no, rap is not in metal songs

and the reason rap sucks is because they sing about how rich they are so they can make more damn money and become more rich so they can then keep singing about how fucking rich they are...... really all just a terrible loop

but hey you never know, at this rate they may just all shoot each other
or maybe thats just me dreaming again

Yeah, music loses credibility when you sing about your Bentley, your platinum grill, or how much you "bling-bling" with all the "ice" on your fingers and neck. Stupid ass shit.

just thought id show a comparison:
Ja rule and ashanti - always on time

Ashanti) [Ja talking]
Always there when you call [Buckshots, hah], always on time
Gave you my....baby be mine
Always there when you call, always on time
Gave you my....baby

(Chorus - Ashanti)
Baby, I'm not always there when you call, but I'm always on time
And I gave you my all, now baby be mine
I'm not always there when you call, but I'm always on time
And I gave you my all, now baby be mine

(Ja Rule)
C'mon and get a piece of this late-night lover
You know, the one that swing dick like no other (shit)
I know, I got a lot of things I need to explain
But baby you know the name and love is about pain
So, stop the complaints and drop the order restraints
Our sex life's a game so bat me down in the paint
'Cause I can't wait no more
'Cause it's about a quarter-past three and shorty's eyein me
I got the Bentley valeted
And I'm just outside of Jersey, past the Palisades
And I love to see that ass in boots and shades
Hold down on the bed while I'm yankin your braids
Thug style, you never thought I'd make you smile
While I'm smackin your ass and fuckin you all wild
[With Ashanti] But we share somethin so rare, but who cares, you care

(Chorus)

Girl, get a grip, c'mon, pull it together
It's only a sunshower, we been through worse weather
Like the stormy nights you wrote a "Dear Ja" letter
And took my Benz and keyed and cut the leather
Bitch, you know better, we live M-O-B
Money Over Bitches, Murder, I-N-C
I got two or three hoes for every V
And I keep 'em drugged up off that ecstasy
I'm a playground legend like Kirkland Pee-wee
Name a nigga in the league got more game than me
I play hard, there's so many women I fathered
Meet 'em with scars and send 'em home hot and bothered
Truth or dare, this life ain't apparantly fair
And a love with no glare is a crystal stare
But we share [with Ashanti] somethin so rare, but who cares, you care

(Chorus)

Oh I'm, feelin like ya livin a, double life
'Cause you don't be comin home, sometimes
Baby, but you're always, on time, checkin for one time
You and I, got a special bond together
We go back like bombers boo, in the coldest weather
And when I play you play the same way you freak me baby I fuck you crazy
Then I'm gone
Baby don't really want me to get up and leave off that easy
She'll be wakin up wet for sheezy
Remind these bitches to mind they business
Believe me, this pimp game is very religious
And I'm built like the Don Bishop
Gon' keep this money-green Benz and my hoes as my witness
The life we share is a thug affair
[With Ashanti] But who cares, you care

(Chorus)

(Ashanti)

Always there when you call, always on time
Gave you my....baby be mine
Always there when you call, always on time
Gave you my....baby be mine

Jurassic 5 - freedom

Chorus:
**Hold on to this feelin', Freedom (Freedom!)** (2X)

[Chali 2na]
Yo, Seldom travel by the multitude
The devil's gavel has a cup of food
My culture's screwed cause this word is misconstrued
Small countries exempt from food cause leader have different views
(You choose)

[Akil]
What meen the world to me is bein' free
Live and let live and just let it be (Let it be)
Love peace and harmony, one universal family
One God, one aim and one destiny

[Marc 7]
(Oh Yeah?)
Imagine life without a choice at all
Given no hope without a voice at all
These be the problems that we face
I'm talkin' poverty in race
But no matter what the case we gotta...

Chorus

[Soup]
Yo, I'm the first candidate to hate
Had to beat on the drum to communicate
For what was to come to those who were hung
They would decapitate the tongue if you would mention the word (Freedom)

[Chali 2na]
Got people screamin' free Mumia Jamal
But two out of three of ya'll will probably be at the mall
I'm heated wit ya'll, the defeated will fall
Uncomplete an unsolved when the word freedom's involved

[Akil]
Yo, my forefathers hung in trees to be free (Rest in peace)
Got rid of slavery but kept the penitentiary
And now freedom got a shotgun and shells wit cha name
Release the hot ones and let freedom ring

[Soup]
I'm the former vote prisoner
Hollywood visitor
Dance for cats segregated on wax
My color got me HANDY-CAP Anson andy
For the freedom they just won't hand me

Chorus

[Marc 7] (2X) **Hold On**
Cause there's not a lot of time **To**
Your heart, body, soul and your mind **This**
They're so true and they been hurtin' so long **Feelin'**
Thats the reason why we named this song **Freedom**

i took these two songs at random

Okay fine you guys have your reasons to say rap sucks and whatever becauses of the whole 'money thing'

But still some people do get meaning out of it and not all rap is like that Thats all I'm trying to say here. Granted its popular to be 'gansta' but still their are acts that aren't as... Bling bling:) (Ive always wanted to say that.)

I dont listen to much rap but the people I know who do still can find meaning so to them it doesn't suck adn who are we to say they have poor tastes?
<---wall I'm trying to say.

My friend Josh HATES olp. He says Raine is a whiner bitch and that half the time he makes no sense and since its not always straightforward then it can't be real music. He doesn't see why I like them and why I get meaning out of potato girl and stealing babies (he says he just doesn't get it) BUT does it matter? Not really. He thinks I have poor tase in music and that the hives rock. lol but his opinion that I have bad taste in music to me and to you (you do like olp right?) is wrong.

I find meaning were he can't. Is it hard to believe others do too?

And to the person who said Linin Park is gay, do you mean homosexual or very happy? Cos that's what gay means. ;) (i'm just playing with you btw you don't actually have to answer) I love LP they'er offically my favorite band and I had hated them up until maybe 5 months ago. Buuuuut I gave them a chance and I decided I was wrong. I find meaning in the music. I like how they sound. I don't care if they sell 10 million cds or 10. I just like them.

and for the record I don't like megadeath... or IM... So I wasn't refering to bands like that I'm refering to more presant day people. Heavy metal isn't what it used to be anyway. I don't think screaming makes you heavy metal so alot of bands that are 'heavy' aren't really... Someone told me slipknot and mudvyne were heavy metal once...I don't think I agree wih that... But anywho If you like them I can't say you have poor taste in music can I. Your parents may listen to 60's music and say you have no taste but they aren't right are they? no. Why aren't they right? Cos they don't understand.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off really. :)

buffy
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

I'm not saying that all pop is bad, but mainstream music has changed greatly in the course of a few decades. Past generations have supplied classics like pink floyd, led zepplin, jimi hendrix, etc. That was considered popular music. I know that every generation has it's poppy bands, but still, does anyone see my point? Pop today is taboo for a lot of people, because the top 40 is now filled with manufactured garbage. There are a lot of great bands in the mainstream today, but a majority of popular bands are too overproduced. I just want to see more art embraced by kids today.

ok, is it possible for someone to name a rap song that is not about violence, sex, or money? all rap is the same to me, there is not one that i have heard with positive or meaningful lyrics. maybe thats why they "sing" so fast, cuz there is no point in hearing what they are saying.. no offence to anyone who likes rap, but i just wanted to point that out

Every Run-DMC album made.

Eminem's "Hailie's Song", "Sing For The Moment", "Till I Collapse" and "The Way I Am".

LL Cool J's first album.

Most of Jay-Z's "The Blueprint".

Sorry, couldn't resist.
OW! She really don't like it... rock the casbah, rock the casbah!
