kasquith wrote:Unfortunately, it has turned into a bittersweet evening. At 330am, when I finally got home, something felt different. But I didn't know what. Then I see a note from my parents explaining that our family dog of 15 years was put to sleep while my brother and I were out this evening.

Yikes. My dog has been in poor health for a while and we've discussed putting him down for almost two months now. But it's still a shock. I'm glad I didn't know this ahead of time... that would have really ruined an otherwise exhilarating show. But at the same time... if I only knew, I would have given him a little more attention before walking out my door this morning.

What's really weird is this -- I'm not sure if anyone was listening to our conversation, but I started talking about his poor health with Jena at the Second Cup. We were having a whole conversation about putting down pets.

Well, what can you do? Here I sit, and life goes on.

I'm going to try and get some sleep now. Peace.

Sorry to hear about your dog. If it was a big dog, look at this way they lived a good life. I had to put my dad's dog to sleep a few years back. She got extremely sick after my dad died. I think she had a broken heart more then anything. I stayed with her while the doctor put her out of her misery. Let me tell you I was so heartbroken. It was sad. I buried her ashes at my dad's grave though.

Trust me I know how you feel. I am a pet owner(cats) my oldest cat is 17-1/2 years old and everytime I go away I am afraid she won;t be alive when I get back.

anyway just want to tell you my thought are with you.
at least you were at something you enjoyed in stead of being home. I don;t mean that in a mean way. At least you were at a place that brought you joy instead of saddness.

well some things you can explain away, but my heartache's in me till this day

I said hello to Jo-ann, but I didn't get a chance to talk to you.
And I missed out on saying hi to Rich, Shel, and a bunch of others who were at the Second Cup.

This is normally the part where I would completely spam the fuck out of this place. But I told Beth I'd stop. I'll keep the spam to a minimal. But yeah, I got to meet a lot of really nice people last night. I met Susan, Alex, Bethany, Sandeep, Stacey, Jo-Ann, Odin and Kyle. I met other people but I don't know any names. Spaghetti Factory was a dinner I'll never forget. Standing out in the lobby staring at Beth, Susan, and Alex for 15 minutes trying to decide how to introduce myself was quite fun. The conert was amazing!!! Highlights: TREBLE CHARGER!!!! I just about passed out when All For You came on. Seriously. That's a fucking AMAZING opener. I was like "Holy shit. This is actually happening. Then I completely flipped out and started singing it and people were getting mad at me. The guy next to me sat for the WHOLE concert except for the Gravity songs, and the encore. For the rest of the time he was on the edge of his seat so he could see around me. Things I wish I could have changed: I would have had Liam there, and met Lori, and they should have played SAAG instead of BBTS, and Lying Awake instead of Whatever. But hey, it was amazing anyways. Next time, we all buy our seats together.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?
