i'll stick up for SOAD. whether or not i like the way they sound, there is no way to deny that they are making music exclusive to them, and doing a good fucking job of it.

they are a talented group of guys who on a musical proficiency level, rank pretty highly. they are not fucking around, each of of those men knows what the fuck he is doing on his particular instrument.

that is not easy shit they play. it is not, as i once incorrectly thought, simple 3 chord scream metal. these guys are setting their standard and blazing their own path, unlike the millions of cookie cutter nu-metal and shitty alt-rock bands out there today.

I'm sure I'll get ripped apart, but here goes... I'm definitely an appreciater of all music, but I just cannot stand SOAD. Honestly, I think they are like the only band in the entire world that I absolutely do not like at all. I want to rip my ears off. I'll give them credit for being unique and not changing their style for anyone, but I just cant consider them good. Lyrics may be good (haven't been able to listen to them, Serj was too busy screaming and yodeling and doing whatever it is he does), but Serj's method of delivering them is just horrendous. What is he doing? Now that I think of it, the rest of the music isnt bad at all, their music can actually sound pretty cool, but as soon as he "sings", its just over. I'm sorry, but as a vocalist, Serj just sucks. I know it's only my opinion and everyone has their own, but I just cant see how anyone can listen to a SOAD CD and not shoot themselves, let alone like it. Hmmm, maybe I don't mind SOAD, I just hate Serj Tankian. K, feel free to make fun of me now, I'm used to it... my roommate and I fight over SOAD all the time :lol:

i could seriously care less if their lyrics are "real and powerful"...if the music is annoying as crap, lyrics mean nothing
