Breaking Benjamin

Post by WaitedOhIOhI »

Any of you hear of these guys yet? I know I spotted some dude wearing a shirt with their album logo on it (dunno if he comes here, of course) at the Central Park show.

Anyway, I first heard of these guys in a commercial on MTV2 for their album, actually. And the snippet played in the commercial was enough to get me at least mildly intrigued. So I downloaded. I got Water, Shallow Bay, and Polyamorous, as well as a live cover of Tool's Ænima. I was in Best Buy a week or two later, and saw that the album was about 9 bucks, so naturally, I went for it, and have not been disappointed.

It's hard rock vocals coupled with catchy lyrics and a sly undertone that's well matched by the thrashing guitar and dead-on back beats. They are, I would say, about level in hardcore as OLP gets, maybe a little bit more so. They're from Pennsylvania, which as some of you may know, is also the home state of another really good (often overlooked) lil' band known as Live. ^_~*

Anyway, that's enough pimping from me. If you want to hear some of them, IM (Giania Lilan) me and I'll send you one of the four tracks I said I had. If you've got 10 bucks to spend, just go out and buy the album ^_~* , I guarantee you won't be sorry.

The song that was on the commercial, and the video that's getting some airtime is Polyamorous.

my polyamorous friend,
got me in a mess of trouble again...

8-)

Oh, and I neglected to mention that the album's name is Saturate. :P

Oh, and a song that might lure some people in is Home. It invokes the Wizard of Oz for imagery, and still manages to rock out while touching you at the same time.
