Just got back from the "acoustic" concert in C.P. and what a fantastic show it was! It was a very cool, intimate setting under the small MSN bubble dome. They said that tickets would be limited to 500 people, but in the end there were around 200 fans there, all crowded by the stage... Raine & the guys were really feelin' the crowd vibe tonight!
Before they started, Raine said they they were going to be mixing the arrangements up a little bit... so it turned out sounding like a power acoustic show, which was awesome. They liked the sound so much that Raine even hinted that maybe they should record a record like this. The band was really relaxed tonight, talking and joking with the crowd in between songs. The music was dead-on through the entire set... very powerful... Bring Back the Sun & Are You Sad were especially incredible tonight... Raine was pulling off all sorts of crazy falsettoes, which sounded fantastic... and man! Mazur was creating some pretty imaginative & impressive solos all night!
The crowd was really great.... except near the end of the concert, there were these two chicks who worked their way up near the front and were trying to sing these stupid, exaggerated harmonies with the band (especially in SOT)... god were they ever awful! During SOT, it got so over the top that I saw Duncan look over at them kinda weird/surprised, looked over at Mike, and then they both started cracking smiles and laughing. A few people from behind me heard their screetches and told me to slap them if I got a chance (sice I was right near them)... It was very tempting I must admit
Other than that minor disturbance, the show was outstanding!
