Crowd response

Post by cor3y »

From the Atlantic City show I went to a week ago, and from a few reviews I read on olp.cc, it seems like crowds have been sucking lately. I was so pissed at AC when no one did absolutely anything. I even felt bad for the guys. Is this what it's going to be like from now on since they made it bigger in the US? It's really disappointing, the concerts I went to a while ago used to be sooooooooo much fun, not that these still arent, but still... Just venting, cuz it's bothering me.

The crowd was great in Buffalo. Raine always says that Buffalo is like a second home to them, and the fans are great around here. You could almost hear the right words being sung to IAH? and everyone was singing 4am. It was great.

i thought the crowd wasn't bad at the Philly show on 8-13. It sucked at Lancaster, though, but AC was by far the worst. Those fucking whore J-Lo chicks were pissing me off...saying that they wanted to have Raine's babies and stuff. ARRGHH. I hate when people don't give appreciation for the music because that's what it's all about.

Portland was ridiculously loud and overwhelming -- but in a good way. All you had to do was mention OLP, and the crowd would go balls-to-the-wall insane.

But I guess that happens when you live so close to Canada. :D

Seattle's pretty fucking close to Canada, and NOBODY but NOBODY's heard of them here. Except SOT, of course.

Hey guys,
I am one person who has seen OLP in both Canada and the USA. let me tell you that in the USA the crowds have become like Canada. Yes there is an off night, but it is pretty much a lively crowd. I don't know where you were in Atlantic City, but we were in the front and it was crazy, except for the few *OMG, the singer is hot girls* it was fans where I was and they were into the show. Okay some fans(newer) might not be famaliar with the older stuff(Naveed) but people were into it. I guess it depends where you were standing. All the shows I have been to, the crowds have been into it singing along to all the songs or most.

^^^ You always had girls like that at an OLP show. It is just more now since they are on TV more and having the last two videos closing in on Raine all dreamy like doesn't help. It is about the music to us fans. yes, we think the guys are good looking men, but in the end it is always the music and how the songs make you feel. At least for me it is.

what kills me most is the girls in front of me or near me who try to push you out of the way, or give you dirty stares because you are in front of Raine-I perfer being in between Raine and Duncan, best view of the whole band in concert. It jsut always kills me with these girls. Since I have been privlilaged to get in the front of all the shows I have to deal with it more. I hate it, like I care if Raine looks at me or not. He sings with his eyes closed most of the time and the rest he looks almost blankly into the crowd. He is too busy into the song to worry about the girls in the front. that is not to say he doesn't look at the crowd. he does, it is that he isn't the type of singer to flirting with the girls in front like some singers might.

Well G and I were totally rocking out in AC! We were on the left side near steve about 3 or so rows of people back. I must admit though that our section wasn't the greatest and the overall crowd wasn't as rowdy as... well Central Park for example (but that's to be expected) but they weren't as into it as at Hammerstein I thought. I try not to worry about that too much. I know whenever I go, and wherever I am, I just totally go nuts no matter what. I think I probably annoy some of the more chill people around me, but that's what they get for going to an OLP show and just standing around

In Central Park I was belting out the choruses and grooving to the music, I could even hear myself in the crowd which was really weird, and probably not something to be proud of :) But I also can happily say I've never been disappointed in NYC venues or fan, so I think OLP just needs to keep coming back, and there won't be a problem! They seem to really like the city too, so I can't wait for the next OLP in NYC concert (probably early 2003?)

Peace and Blessings,

Coz
