it really ISNT the end of the world, but i do understand where the person who posted this thread is ocming from. OLP is SO awesome and its great that theyre getting more exposure, but....okay, say for example somebody started comparing them to Limp Bizkit or NSync or osmething. it just seems like being put on a compilation CD that lives and breathes britney and nsync is kind of like...i dont know, somehow making OLP equal to them. not that they are....or that just because SOT is ON that cd it will be bad, but don't u agree, as a fan, that it's kind of shitty to see that happen to such great music? i think thats the only point that was trying to be made.

Im kind of surprised that Gravity hasn't even gone gold yet!

you know OLP were on MUCH MUSICS vloume 6 with LIFE, so what if they are on this compilation. who cares. It is only a collection of teh biggest hits out today. I don't think you guys realize how HUGE SOT is and the audiences it is gettingacross to. Not only the POP crowd, but Adult Contemporary, Modern Rock, POP,. etc.
aslo I was told that GRAVITY is close to being certified GOLD in the USA> that means they sold almost 500,000 copies. YEAH way to go.

maybe because I think it is great that OLP are getting reconiziton now. Yeah for them. About time. they really are a godd rock band and deserve success here also.

I believe that 1,000,000 sales of an album is considered diamond. Platinum is 100,000 sales. I could be mistaken though. Gold is 500,000, I think.

Yeah, i guess it's good that OLP is getting the exposure. But on the NOW cd's? They friggin suck. Suck hard. REALLY hard. But, I digress...
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

Arlie, you're thinking of the Canadian standards. 100.000 in Canada is platinum, 1,000,000 is diamond. 500000 in the US is gold, and 1,000,000 here is platinum.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
