A good friend of mine was at the show. He loved it - but I can't get over the fact he said it was only a 60-minute set with no encore. I guess you have to be there, becuase no matter how good a show is, that's too short for my standards.

Was the crowd pumped, pissed or confused when the lights came up after the main set? Or did everyone know it was coming - is this a standard Strokes concert? Pardon my ignorance.

Beats me.
I read on their site that they were on tour with The Strokes. Hell, I would have paid just to see Sloan.

ya I know... I was sorta shocked when they didn't come back for an encore... but you have to keep in mind that they only have one album so it's not like they had many other songs they could have played... the set was about one hour and ten minutes but they played most of the songs on thier album and a few new ones...

it was soooo a thing you had be there for... b/c even though it was short the concert was mind-blowing... It was hard to be disapointed for no encore when the concert was that good.... plus it was the sears ACC theatre which is so much smaller then the full area and made it more intaminte...

Ya.. Sloan opened... they were really good...the crowd really got into them.... there was another opening act... this guy name Har Mar Superstar   wow did this guy have major problems... he was this fat guy who came out and told everyone that he was the fuckin best and that he was awesome (those are direct quotes  ) .... Me and my friend couldn't sit throught the whole thing so when we came back to our seats we looked on the stage and he was in his underwear  doing handstands  I'm not even kidding... I'm gonna have nightmares for weeks!!!

THE STROKES! Die. If I could erase one band from music it would be them.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

The Strokes are amazing live. I agree that they probably don't have enough songs to do an encore. I saw SOAD in March though, and they didn't do an encore either. I guess if you put on a good enough show encore is optional:)

I have a kick ass Strokes shirt. It's yellow with green short sleeves......and it says The Strokes with a shooting star thing. They do have a TON of merch though......

actually they didn't really have a lot of nice merch @ the concert... I got a small black shirt w/ thier logo thing on it... but the other ones were pretty ugly. There were only 4 different shirts... One shirt was brown and said the tour dates on it and it was really yucky looking...

They had one similar to the one you have but it was blue with light blue on the sleeve and a shooting star and said strokes in the middle.

Yeah, I wanted to go see the strokes when they play in Utah, but unfortunately I am going to an opera that night. Wow, I sure do sound like a dork. Anyways, I once told a friend of mine that the strokes suck because I was in a bad mood, and it really hurt his feelings, so I still feel bad. Yay for the strokes. Whoo hoo.

unfortunately no, because I have no way to get there. But I did see them at the big ass show, and I'm gonna go see them when they play Bricks in November. I think i'll just leave before Box Car Racer plays.
