BAH!!
BAH!!
yes, this is OLP related. kinda sorta. lol. i have an assigment in music & society. here's the assignment:
Artist Profile
Every type of music produces an elite group of artists, those exceptionally talented-- or at least exceptionally popular-- performers and composers who somehow make a major impact on the field of music, and sometimes on society as a whole. For this assignment, you are to profile one such artist. Specifically, you may choose any performer, songwriter or composer who you believe has had a significant and lasting influence on the music and culture of his or her time. You are to present your ideas in the form of a 10 minute presentation to the class, and in a formal written summary of your findings, approx. 500 words in length.
In both you presentation and written summary, you should give an explicit thesis stating why you feel your subject should be considered a major figure in their chosen field. As well as giving a brief biographical sketch, you should also summarize, as appropriate, the major themes, influences and defining characteristics of the artist's work, and provide evidence of his or her lasting influence on music and society. Accordingly, contemporary performers are, as a rule, generally not the best choices. Particularly in the field of popular music, artists have a short shelf life, and performers who seem important at any given time have a habit of fading into obscurity with surprising speed.
so that's the assignment. the last sentence is what makes me think he wont let me do olp. i need suggestions. should i do OLP or not? each person in the class has to do someone different, and most of the good ones are taken (cobain, lennon, tupac, michael jackson for example). so if i SHOULD do olp, what suggestions do you have for my assignment? and if i should, have you got any ideas for who i should do??
THANK YOU

whoever i was then i can't ever be again

the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

The Ramones, The Dead Kennedy's, maybe even Alkaline Trio.

I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
