Band Names

Post by Dabekk »

Ok, so here's the deal . . . this thread is for discussing cool, or not cool band names, that either exist, or that you have simply dreamt up.

my alterior (sp?) motive for this thread (and of course there is one) is that my band is currently considering changing its name. Right now our name in 'phyvel', as in the mouse but spelled differently. One new consideration that I thought of was 'up in flames' . . . but any other suggestions or comments would be more than welcome.

Anyway, to get this topic started off, I'd have to say that my favourite band name of all time is the Weakerthans . . . I'm not really into their music but I think it's such a clever name.

continue . . .

According to a review in NME, a British music mag, it's the gayest band name ever

Me and Megan have always dreamed of starting a band called:

The Sketchbook Prophecies.

I think its a HAWT name myself.

actually it was a roadie who came up with Bellyflop communists... Someone said something and it was misheard as "bellyflop communists"

Anyways I name that I think would work well....
how about...

"Yours"
"Crossing florescents"
"Random Day"
"Hard broken"
"Starting bare"

ya I dunno...
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

well i've just been told by one of my bandmates, that there's a band named 'in flames', so I guess we can't call ourselves 'up in flames', oh well, continues with the intriguing conversation.

Yeah, In Flames. They're a Swedish metal band. They're kind of big around here in Detroit.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I think the coolest name of an actual band I've ever heard is The Starlight Mints.

I used to think that if I had a band I'd want to call it Cellar Door, but some of my friends stole my idea.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.
