if you follow it exact and do it properly it works .. but it's landed a lot of people in the hospital as well because people think they just have to eat a lot of meat for it to work
this lady at subway was talking about how it nearly killed her husband and he was in the hospital and how she absolutely hates making the 'atkin wraps' from subway because she doesn't agree with it
my friend at work is on it .. no carbs, working out etc .. she's super skinny but always sick and throwing up and her stomach is all messed up
well he's diabetic and i guess with everything he was eating it was just super unhealthy for him and it caused complications .. so obviously the same thing won't happen to everyone .. but i think there's probably healthier ways of dieting out there.

The thing is, Carbs are the major source of energy in your body, so when you eat less carbs it is forced to burn proteins and then fats for energy. This then causes you to burn the fat that your body already has. That the general theory from what I've gathered.
The difficult part though, is staying healthy. It's really easy to go off on this diet and eat a lot of shit that isn't good for you and will bring a lot of bad cholesterol into your system. In some cases, there isn't enough excersize in the persons life and it just gains more weight.
The thing about Atkins is, even if you take on the "low carb" lifestyle, it's going to be incredibly difficult to maintain this for an extended period of time, like say, your whole life. As soon as you change your diet, you'll start gaining weight again. This is such a fad diet that the signs are obvious that this isn't going to work out unless your very serious about it. What happened to the people who cut out Fats? And then trans fats and carbs? And now just carbs? Its the same people looking for a quick fix and it ends up causing more problems then helping.
If you actually want to loose weight, its simple. Add more exercize to your daily routine and stop eating shit that is obviousy bad. If your sitting on the couch eating cheetos then of course you not going to lose weight.
You know, a surprising amount of people that are really fit don't work out in the gym every day, they are just really active outdoorsie people. Biking, surfing, hiking...that sort of thing. Stuff you can enjoy.

I've heard about it and it's obvious it works, but I know I could never do and really don't have enough of a reason to do it. I just wanted to see if anyone had done it and it actually worked for a long period of time for them.
