^Very cool. I found something interesting on there for CMers.

OLP STARTED AS FOUR GUYS IN A ROOM. JUST LIKE THE RECORDING OF BURN BURN. BUH-GAWD.

"It's just four people in a room banging their heads together," Maida insists. "It's always tough to get four people that are as diverse as we are to agree to a certain idea, but in the end, if everybody can live with it then you know it's got to be good."

I think "insists" is the correct word.

Uh... what? That's how the quote spells it.

It was a joke, dear. Raine does insist that it's four guys in a room... he says it over and over and over again.

I'd watched this Kiss on the Mouth performance before, but never really paid any mind to the end of it. I take it Raine is bitter and mocking Sony and/or Bob?

Not really news but this is true CLASS at it's best. From Mike's FB page

Comment to MIke:
man, can i just say, and pardon my language, but fuck does your old band miss you. the skill-less guitar player they have now...it's rough. the guy is a soulless butcher. crash karma on the other hand, extremely lucky to have you! the new album is great!

Mike's response back
Mike Turner Come on( person), Steve's a great player and the important thing is that the music is what remains to be enjoyed. Give the guys a break!
Oh, and thanks for the nice words, it means a lot!

Nothing but class... even though Raine's pretty much been a dick about him in all the interviews he's done since he left the band

Wow, didn't think a well known band who has been around for that many years would hire a skill-less, souless butcher on guitar - you'd think they could get someone with a little skill. I understand people missing Mike but wow - why can't people just move on and give Steve some love. Good for Mike, I went and bought the Crash Karma CD yesterday.

How is that album sounding anyway?

I just caught the end of it, for anyone who listened to it, did they say anything about the new album?

Not really a dick, but he just doesn't seem to like talking about it.

And my respect for Mike went up extremely. I've never been his biggest fan, but I respect the hell out of him.

I dunno about that...

Raine: Not to dispel any myths, but Mike really never left the band. We
had to make a change because we’re a rock band. And everyone
was kind of growing in different levels and, unfortunately, as a guitar
player, Mike wasn’t really growing in the way that we wanted
him to. And that’s something that maybe we put on him that we
shouldn’t have, but we just saw the band as, if it was to survive,
we just needed a guitar player that could own it. That was a very
difficult decision for us, but we had to do that and I think it’s paid
off on this record. It really came to fruition with Steve.

That's one of the very few times he actually talked about it though, and it wasn't dick-ish at all.

At some other point a few years back though Raine said something along the lines of how Mike will be successful, but it "won't be on a six-stringed instrument."

I haven't had a whole lot of time with it yet, but so far its not too bad. A lot reminds me of IME - but Edwin's voice is so distinctive so that may be the reason for that.

Yeah that's the one I was thinking of but couldn't find it... I dunno why he's so bitter about Mike... but I remember an interview from back when Mike was in the band where he said "as soon as we make music for money I quit"... so I don't really know if I believe Raine's quote about him being "fired" during Gravity
