That guy is awesome. He's pretty much the only reason why I watch Cap's games.

Do you think he'll stay with the team next year? Personally, I would love it if he was signed by edmonton. Lord knows they need a guy like him.

The current temperature in Buffalo, NY is 33 degrees (F)

Wind from the SW at 16 mph

With the windchill factor apply the 'feels like' temperature is 23 degrees

Snow showers earlier will become steadier snow for the afternoon. High around 35F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. 1-3 inches of snow expected.

Sounds like perfect hockey weather to me eh?

AO aint goin no where.
he's a RFA and theres no way fuckin hell ted leonisis (caps owner and founder of AOL as well as other companies and a billionaire) wont match any offer going ovie's way (including rumored deals of 10-15 years at 9-10 mil per year from the habs, leafs and others.

hes going to be a cap for at least the next 4 years after which he'll be a UFA and at that point.. we'll see haha

supposedly, his best friend is andrei markov of the habs, and his face team is the laffs but he has stated he really loves montreal on more than one occasion

Fucking EIG. Some board recommended against selling the Oilers to Katz. Whats your opinion on the issue?

And apparantly one of the thing that the board wants to know if whether or not katz will still be interested in spending 100 Mill to build the arena even if he doesn't get the team.

supposedly theres a few folks in EIG that will make a shit load of money if they dont sell to katz

as far as what i think or want.. i think katz needs to take over.. the dudes worth over a billion, hes a huge hockey fan and he WANTS the team.. its the same thing as jim balsille and a team and finally as jerry bruckenheimer and a team.. theyre worth over a billion dollars apiece, theyre huge hockey fans and want to see the sport get bigger..

btw cal nichols. the chairman of the board of EIG wants katz to take over or something according to some dude at tsn

All the EIG cares about is money, in my opinion. Asking him to invest 100mill in a new arena for a team katz doesn't own proves my point. Personally, if he doesnt get the team, he should not spend a dime for the oil.

i think he'll still do some stuff since he still wants the team but probably wont pony up the 100 mil.. plus there are guys on the "inside" of EIG that want to sell to him and that want him to take over

as for money grubbing and pro sports.. nobody beats the leafs.

first off.. 1967
secondly... look up the various forbes reports for money making NHL franchises for the past uhhh 2007-1967 years and shockingly the leafs are #1.
thirdly.. MSLE (maple leaf sports and entertainment) is partially (i think 30%) owned by the ontario teachers pension plan (or fund.. cant remember which, either same company just cant remember the exact name), one of the largest pension companies in the country (i think second largest in fact)... OTP(P/F?) has enough veto power on the MLSE board to give a yay or nay to any trade the leafs want to make based on salary, in fact, jaromir jagr couldve been a leaf instead of a cap (before his trade to the rags) if it werent for MLSE and its quest for money.. OTP(P/F?) is in it for money and money only, not a cup. they care, first and foremost about their investment portfolio (and rightfully so, they run the retirement fund for all teachers in ontario and those are some very important folks) but in the context of your question, OTP(P/F?) is hindering the leafs (not so much now given the cap tho).

last year, the top 3 teams in the nhl for revenues were the leafs, rangers, habs.. and i forget the rest.. but the difference between the leafs and rangers/habs was significant, i also vaguely remember MLSE being one of the teams very much against revenue sharing and all for a cap because that would amount to crazy profits for MLSE
