It's not that I think it's wrong, I just think it will take away from the ultimate enjoyment of first getting the CD and all that crap.
Exaaaaaaaaactly!!!
Plus the stream'll be horrendous quality. I want the first time I hear these songs to be in beautiful cd quality audio.

are you not going to listen this Sunday either. .. You know they will do some of the songs then..
If I was near a computer with speakers I listen. To me it is no different then when they did the SM review with Ray..
I can see waiting two days. What's the big deal.. I had a copy of Gravity before it was released. It took me a week or two before I listen to it though.. Then again I saw OLP in concert before the cd was reelased and they did the new songs anyway.. Oh well, not like we aren't going to buy the cd anyway..
SOOZ. If you are in the USA before Aug 25th you should consider seeing OLP at Viper Room.. You can get cheap flights from Seattle to LA> If interrested check out www.americawest.com, www.ata.com, www.alaskaair.com and I think even Jetblue may do it.. Just a suggestion cause I know how much you love OLP and who knows when they will be in England again..

hehe sonya, I don't think my friends will appreciate lugging their laptop around for me to listen to it! I can just wait the few days.
And Gail unfortunately I arrive on the 26th of August so I can't make any of the LA shows Thanks for the info though.

That sucks.. If I do see Matt in Buffalo I am suppose to get the stuff from him to tape Aug 11th Viperroom show, and since we should have the stuff still for Bowery we should get those shows also..
3 more days till OLP., Is anyone else excited?. I normally don't feel excited till the day of the show. I have been having dreams with the guys so I guess that makes up for it. I even had a dream that my friend and I bumped into Mike Turner in the parking lot of the local A&P( supermarket store in NY).. LOL.

By the time that radio station is going to play the album, it will have leaked to the internet already. Those who haven't downloaded it by then certainly aren't going to settle for hearing a radio quality version (or an internet stream, as the case may be) at that point. And anyone else should already have 192kb or better mp3s of it, so there's no point for them to listen to it either.

1. Angels Losing Sleep - Here's a great radio rock friendly sound that pulls out the stops.
2. Will The Future Blame Us - Guitars crank out from the start. Nicely written song. Experience shows here.
3. Picture - Acoustics start off the track to only pick up pace in the chorus.
4. Where Are You (Best Days) - This track has a real punk pop feel to it, which isn't a bad thing. The overall structure of the song is written well.
5. Wipe That Smile Off Your Face - Cool delay effect at the beginning. I like when bands do things differently & take chances.
6. Love & Trust - The beginning kind of for a split second reminded me of The Cure and it has a kind of old school feel to it like old U2.
7. Boy - Nice pace to start of this outstanding song. This song shows what kind of songwriters these guys are.
8. Apology - Very low key, slow based track that really puts you in a relaxed frame of mind. Guitarist keeps you attention, as does the rhythm section.
9. The World On A String - Groovy upbeat song where the guitars, vocals & rhythm section get to shine and show people how it's done.
10. Don't Stop - Another outstanding song here. The lyrics tell the story very well in the way it's laid out.
11. Walking In Circles - The way the guitars are layered adds a thicker feel to the track cause they're doing different riffs & it helps the rest of the band flow around the riffs & also add to it.
12. Al Genina (Leave A Light On) - Great acoustic riff to start off the song. I love when a song has a strong feel to it that pulls you in & you feel like you're in the story as its being told.
Yeah, I had the same feeling....I don't trust this reviewer at all, but at least some of his descriptions revealed a bit about the songs. I tried checking out his other reviews and they are just as brutal.

I am not surprised by #6-Love & Trust sounding like Old School U2.. When my friend and I saw OLp last( Sept 02') Raine told us that some of the songs they were trying for old school U2 sound. That is why I am not surprised that a song ended up being like that..
Great to hear Someone complimenting Raine( band) on their songwriting skills.. I have always been a fan of Raine's lyrics. Yeah Raine and OLP..
