Okay, I have another undoubtedly n00b question. I assume "Mafia" is "Right Behind You" what with the tracklisting on SM saying, "Right Behind You (Mafia)". I assume you call it Mafia because it's shorter, but why is there Mafia in parantheses after the title?
I just wanna get out,

Because Mafia is Raines back up title in case the other one gets injured.
That and Raine just wanted to call a song "Mafia" for kicks. Its a song with two names.

Yes, that's correct.

Anyway, I'm unsure of the "Mafia" title reasoning, but the original title of the song was "Spirit Mafia".

not a n00b actually.
I really can't answer that. I guess Raine or someone liked mafia as I better title, so they decided to give it two and decide which one was better.

Yes Spirit Mafia was the original title... Shortened to just Mafia, and then Right Behind You with Mafia in ()

Raine said he always wanted a song to be named Mafia, and so he did.

Am I the only person who thinks that "Wipe That Smile Off Your Face" is just really cliche?

How so? Its a popular catch phrase.......I'm not really sure why you would say its a cliche though?

I remember hearing somewhere that he wanted the song name to be "Mafia" to try and portray it in a different light that what, at first listen, you may think the song's about. I dunno, that just came to mind; cna't recalle where I heard that. :freak:
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I just find it weird that a popular catch phrase is cliche in this case. I'm not trying to make this a semantical arguement, just that it seem to express Raine's album direction in a single phrase..........maybe I just find the criticism too picky......."splitting hairs".

It could be just me (and I'm not trying to say you're wrong Val....) but I think self titled debut albums are the true cliche.

Artist: Long Cowedong
Album Title: Long Cowedong

Yes, but using a popular phrase is pretty cliche as well. I can't think of any right now, but OLP usually doesn't choose titles that sound really familiar (naveed, happiness, etc)
