Ohh, One more thing - when I say "why is EVERYONE concerned about falsetto" I mean the general population - not CMers specifically.
Rock is dead, and paper killed it.

I love falsetto but it's not the key to what I love about Raine's voice - it's the emotion I love, which for me just seemed to lack in many Burn Burn songs; Raine seemed to just be lazily going through the motions.

Raine's emotive and powerful voice was in full swing in both Gravity and Naveed, and neither of those had many screaming falsetto licks.

Crazy. I never thought I'd hear OLP cover that track.

It's the chorus from "Kids" by MGMT

Oh wow! That's one of my favorite non-OLP songs right now. Wish I'd been there.

I hope they do this on Tuesday!
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

OLP just posted on Facebook that the new single, TEIWWB is being released to radio stations today, September 14. Twitter too. Really disappointed with the single choice.

It's from the soundcheck - not from the show, but here's Automatic Flowers. Can anyone identify what he is playing at the beginning? Sounds good, but I have no idea what it is.

I just wish he sounded like he cared to be singing it. I almost yawned cause it felt like he wanted to yawn.

I know what you mean -- I think that's really just a product of what Bob Rock did to change his voice. Without any new direction, it's hard for him to go back to before that point with his voice. His "new voice" isn't "designed" to sing songs like Automatic Flowers that have so much pitch variation.

No offense, but that sounds ridiculous to me. It's not like Bob molded his voice into radio-rock after having been a coloratura soprano. You can't change a person's voice, you can only change the way they use it. Dude's probably just not practicing singing that way anymore.

Yeah, because he changed his vocal style. Whatever, I'm not saying Bob Rock FORCED him to change it and its a permanent thing, just that there's a marked change and that Bob Rock probably suggested and helped him make such a change in his voice. We know that Bob got him to change a lot of the original lyrics on Gravity, so it's not that much of a stretch.

I agree, a person's voice can't is change...it's ever the same, i think that if Raine come back to use falsetto like pre-gravity era we can have the old style...
