I don't get that channel. I'm hoping NTV will air it, they often have CTV programming on.

although it's really inaccurate and means something more like "air"

yeah, pretty much all the characters in the life video are almost obscenely inaccurate.

you know the three characters at the beginning that are supposed to mean our lady peace? i think the literal translation is somethign like "married dame" "unity" "for us".

Wow... I feel really bad for anyone who got that tattooed. I knew the others were way off, but didn't know the OLP was THAT far off.

By the way, are those the symbols used for OLP in China?

Do they even translate the name, or just leave it as OLP and leave Chinese people going, "eh eh eh what"

okay you know how chinese people translate things that they don't have words for?

it kind of works like this..

say you have the name victoria. in chinese, "victoria" is pronounced "wi-daw-lay-ah" using four chinese words that just sound close to "victoria"

harry potter is pronounced "ah-lay-po-tah". many terms are "translated" this way.

since there is no such thing as an "our lady peace" in the chinese language and to use a literal translation would be too crude, in china (if olp even exists there) our lady peace might be something like "ah lah day ping see"

but since china nowadays is more of a english-chinese kind of hybridly languaged place, you might see something like this...

in which the unknown terms are just written as they are in english.

For us Americans MTV and VH1 will broadcast this..

MTV will be from noon to 8PM..
CMT and VH1 Classics will show highlights the next day..

The "Peace" symbol looks a lot like the symbol for harmony. Or, at least, the symbol that's marketed as meaning harmony. The only difference is the square being a bit smaller.

it doesn't matter what size the square is as long as it's the same symbol. just like it doesn't matter how big english text is as long as they're the same letters.

what is the symbol in your avatar cause I have the symbol for peace on my arm and it doesn't look like that? it sort of looks like the one for hope. I am getting that one and the one for one in about a month.

the symbols are for life, peace and eternity

the middle one is for peace. here is a picture of the symbol. one of the left is the one i have.

here is the one for hope i like. i tis on the left side.
