I agree. The grammys have proved themselves completely irrelevant by not acknowledging those artists that have made a progressive contribution to rock music this year.

ahahha. because franz ferdinand and the white stripes are so alternative... i say the arcade fire will take it... because i dont think the dcfc made that big an impact (compared to transatlanticism, anyway)...

I got an email from the Jamiroquai mailing list today... they were nominated for best short form music video. I'm shocked.

I have to disagree. I've listened to Neil's new album, and believe me i love the man, but i was shocked to see it even in this category. It's not a rock album at all in my opinion. And although this is just me talking out of my ass, i've heard that the stones album wasn't that great. Prarie Wind is worthy of winning something, but I'm not sure about it winning a rock grammy. Even though I'm not a huge U2 fan I would say that either their album or The Foo Fighters deserve to win.

as for The Alternative Section:
They're all deserving bands of the prize in my opinon. Although The White Stripes album was in my view their worst. I'm rooting for The Arcade Fire of course, but i don't think they'll win.

The foo fighters album was pretty solid, but nothing worth rock album of the YEAR. They didn't do anything amazing or all that new.

I didn't care for the Foos album as a whole.
U2's, on the other hand.

The Rolling Stone Album recieved rather rave reviews. I'm sure they will take it.
