Do not use plural pronouns to refer to singular antecedents. I'm pretty sure that is still a rule, or else we have let feminist weirdos completely fuck up our language. Just use "he".

Sorry, we learned this one in class. The automatic "he" pronoun was established by a law passed a couple centuries ago in England, and had hitherto been used because the prevalent form of written language was in school books, which were naturally exclusive to male students. The rule's been denounced. Language changes. Deal with it, chauvinist weirdo
