3 car batteries and a 20pack of lithium batteries.

i work for a store that wants to adapt the "walmart model" (these words did come out of a manager's mouth at a staff meeting).

essentially, the sales associates are only to help customers only if they ask for help, and for less than 2 minutes. we're not supposed to spend an extended period of time with the customers.

this from a company that worked for many years at providing excellent customer service. and they wonder why we're losing business like crazy...

...that was a wee bit of a side note. talking about walmart triggered that for me.

man, i wouldn't mind if we adopted the "walmart model". we'd lose business like crazy, but then again, i wouldn't have to talk to people :happytears:

So what he just grabbed a cart and went straight out the door?
Kinda hard to fit 3 car batteries under your shirt.

when I worked at zellers someone did exactly that. put a tv in a cart and walked out. it was busy in electronics, which was in the back, and the electronics guy, all alone with a bunch of customers, didn't notice. the front assumed that it was paid for in the back.

she got away with it, too. it was only review of security footage when the loss prevention officer got in that let us know it happened.

see, this is why you don't put the big, expensive stuff out on the sales floor. you keep it locked up where people can't reach it.

in other news, i'm getting braces in two days. the pain part i can handle, but i'm more worried about the dent it'll make on my bank account. :S

I find that odd, as we spend and exceeding amount of time training associates on product knowledge. Every store I've ever been has stressed that spending time with customers is crucial to business. If someone wants to adopt a "Walmart model", maybe they should focus on controlling expenses, streamlining logistics, and using those things to drive prices down, which would generate more sales and profitability. Tell your boss he is a fool. You can use fucking idiot if that's more appropriate.

Yes, Brian, push-out with a shopping cart.

You don't want to me to re-nig on my promise of a Salt Lake City road trip if OLP makes a tour stop there.

We bought a red Subaru Impreza, 06, to replace the Mazda. I am digging it more and more every day. But I still feel a little twinge when I drive by Mazdas.

Nikki, I did the same thing with my husband ;) When he moved back here, I flew up there to help him move his stuff back and we drove back here together. When we got engaged we had been dating/known each other just under three months. When we got married we had known eachother almost seven months. I didn't question once whether or not we were right for eachother! I'm happy for you.

you forgot to mention that i was in your ear telling you to lay him at once!
