no, language use on the cm just isn't that unique i was mostly using the cm as one example of an online speech community in order to prove that the internet has developed multiple dialects - some mutually intelligible, some not so much. if i hadn't been lazy i would have done a more thorough job profiling distinct varieties (leet, kitty pidgin and the like) - but i only needed to get 50% on the paper to get an A in the class. i did use two examples from the cm though - the more interesting one was about an instance of someone repeating a username in a sentence in order to avoid making a pronoun choice of he or she.

i hope your procrastination is going as well as mine! i handed in my paper today just barely on time!

yes! i talked about "pagebabies" as an example of a community specific word, as also as an instance of compounding, which experts say is a method of word-creation that is rapidly increasing thanks to the internets!

Ugh. I hate cold medication for just that reason. I only take it when I really need to function, but it usually completely undermines that goal.
