I think that, here at the CM, we have some of the most sardonic humor of any board.

*go us*
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

The lyrics to Wipe are good, but too simple. That is really the only thing i'm not wild about witht hat song. I love the chorus and the guitar work is nice, but the lyrics just are too simple. Hopefully, if that song is on the cd, the lyrics will be worked out a bit better.

Well, it has been a fair amount of time since we last heard it live, so I'm sure it's been improved upon. Assuming it's even going on the album, which would make a lot of sense if it's also the title of the album.

I'm not sure, but was that supposed to be funny?

Anyways, why is everyone freting over something that isn't official? For all we know the title is "Hey you!"... let's just sit back, wait, and argue about the demise of the band when the name is official.

I dont mean to start up any big fuss with this post....but i know it will anyway because people's opinions get blown out of proportion on here.....so here goes.....

Although i like the title "Wipe....", I think they should call the new album "Not Afraid" because it signifies that they are not afraid to try something new or different or simple or complex, and not afraid of what people will think of it because it is their music, and the only people that "have to" like is themselves.....that's right....believe it or not, they, like most artists that have ever made music, made it because they had a passion for it and they liked it....the fact that others like it and pay them to make it is an added bonus, but it all started with passion...

"My opinion" of OLP's music is that i can listen to every cd straight through a million times in a row and not get sick of it, and i do not dislike any song.....I know some ppl only like certain OLP stuff and think some of it is inferior (ie gravity) and that is fine and you are all entitled to your opinion and i respect everyone's opinion...it just bothers me that people think that they make the music for you and if you dont like it then it is the end of the world.....they make it for themselves because they like it, and if we the fans like then thats great and if we dont....at least they like it....that is why i like them....the passion for the music really shows.....

sorry for the rant....although i did not intend for this, im sure many opinons will follow this post

Not Afraid=good title

I suggested a while ago to do "the winding road" ala not afraid, because they've been on a long journey in which they've taken all sorts of directions. A winding road also represents no sight of the end, and I can't see the end of OLP in the near future. :)

The Winding Road isn't bad, but it's a bit too Beatles for me ;) I'm okay with pretty much any of the currently released song titles that I can think of (Walking in Circles, No Warning, Not Afraid) except Wipe..., Don't Ask Why (this I wouldn't mind too much), and Talk is Cheap.

So, um, half of the ones I can think of.

I like the title, but isn't the lyric "one-way road"?

ya, it is . But a one-way road represents one forced direction which is not OLP. Plus it doesn't have that ring to it like "the winding road" does

and there's nothing wrong with the beatles. :)
