In happier news, we are supposed to get a snow storm tomorrow, around 12 inches. Hope for a snow day, I don't want to go to work!!! Shoveling my car out of a snowbank because I've been plowed in while traffic is zooming all around me is scary and annoying!

Snow days from school rock. We have a semester change tomorrow, so the teachers just have to go to school, not the students. I have an orthodontist appointment anyway. I get my braces off! Finally! I will have had them on for two years, six months, and ten days.

...snow? days?

we don't get those in saskatchewan. ever.

we don't even get -50 days! buses for some elementary schools stop running, but the schools stay open.

no matter how much snow, saskatchewan keeps on moving. we're tough.

Your teeth are going to feel so slimy for a few days - it's an interesting feeling! Good luck!

laurel, saskies are definitely resilient, but saskatchewan also doesn't usually get enough snow to warrant closing stuff down. it gets ridiculously cold, and once the snow turns to ice, it's dangerous as all heck to drive on, but the snow itself is bearable most of the time. the exception of course being the blizzard of '07, through which i hear most things stayed open anyway

on a related note, it's almost february, and we still haven't had any snow storms. this is almost unheard of!

well Saskatchewan actually gets quite a bit of snow, not in comparison to the snowfall on the coasts, but the amount of their snowfall relies on the level of precipitation each year, so many places along the east coast only average from as little as less than twice as much snowfall per winter up to three times the amount of snowfall, in comparison to Regina itself that is, which is southern Saskatchewan and gets much less snow than pretty much every city and region north of us, including Saskatoon. So the difference between coast snowfall and Mid to Northern Saskatchewan is even less than what the difference in Regina is and even then depending on the year it's usually not that significant of a difference, compared to most of southern SK as well.

we have had a disgusting amount of snow this winter.

every time it warms up from -50 to something more bearable, we get dumped on. not a nice little happy snow. instead, a big pile of snow dumped upon us. and then it goes to insanely stupidly cold temperatures again.

this year has been ridiculous.

Albertan winters are just as cold, but we seem to miss the insane amounts of snow that you guys get.

6-9 inches of snow/ice/snow/ice/snow/ice

Columbus was right on the line so it kept changing back and forth. My window is coated in ice from the freezing rain hitting it.

I've been listening to a neighbor scrape their car off for the past 10 minutes.

I got up and say level 2 snow emergency for the county I live in and the county I work in so I just e-mailed them told them I wouldn't be in.

I'll pass on testing my cars traction control in this crap thank you very much.

Instead I think I'll just go back to sleep.

I <3 snow days

its snowing and gross so i'm not doing groceries today, dammit. i'm ordering pizza, and feeling really bad for the poor person who has to deliver it. we're supposed to get another 15-25 cm today.

at least it's not like i have anywhere to go, considering my university's STILL on strike. bastards.
