So, I've been invited to two weddings next year. Now would I be an ass for buying a suit thats more pimped than the groom and groomsman?

You see, I cannot simply cannot stand the grooms, and yet they're engaged to two very good friends of mines. So, I'm basically doing this to spite the bastards. :)

If you want the brides to be pissed at you, go right ahead!

Well, she doesn't know I can't stand him.....so I'm thinking I could get away with it!

Well, as awesome as it would make you feel, the wedding is about her and not about you. It would be pretty self centered to go in and create a problem at her wedding, for your own joy. Why wreck an event that is so special to someone else?

That is a good point.

Good point, Matt. But then it is just a suit.

This reminds me of Friends when Chandler needed to have the coolest celebrity's tux because he was the groom. Don't be like Ross, Johnny!

But it's not just a suit. Just like you don't wear white if you're a guest, you don't outshine the groom, especially if you're in the wedding party.

Haha, I wore white to the last wedding I went to. But I asked the bride before I did it, and it was a black and white dress, so it wasn't like WHITE white.

You do greatly increase your chances of making it with a bridesmaid with that tux however.

Not that I got any after my best friend's wedding, but I would have been exponentially more turned off by someone hitting on me in one of those suits.

Well, as a wedding gift to them(well more to her actually) I'm seriously thinking aboot playing guitar or piano for them at the receptiion. I mentioned the idea to her sister and she's thrilled with the idea.

So, I have a significantly better chance of making it with a bridesmaid using the above method.
