I finally got to see The Police live ..Had great seats. It was an amazing show and worth every penny in my book.

Matt just for you. They did this in enchores. Sting wsa doing this in his enchores when he toured solo in the 90's

That's really cool, good cover! Damn, Sting looks old, really old!

Nine Inch Nails is next up for me on Tuesday, and possibly the Smashing Pumpkins on Wednesday, next week.

NIN is so freaking awesome live. Their light setup on this tour is amazing.

If you are on the floor, I recommend standing in front of Robin. He's fun to watch. Also you don't get killed by people clawing to be in front of Trent, who is also rather fun to watch.

I was in front of Robin for the Winnipeg show and it kicked ass, although apparently the crowd was pretty tame by NIN standards.

not sure if I will see NIN this time around. They are here end of the month. I acutally did not go to alot of shows this spring and summer so I could see The Police. Now that show is over I can try to catch some shows coming around..

My friend and I might be seeing Billy Idol in a few weeks..

I really do not go to concerts much anymore. Just local people playing clubs around here.

I have balcony seats so I can tape in peace. I've seen some photos from this tour, and I'm excited to see it all pull together live.

I forgot to post about the Blues Traveler concert.. They played pretty great. They opened with a cover of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniels Band (except he changed it to Charleston since that was the city), and went back and forth using harmonica and guitars in place of the fiddle. It was amazing. They also played some material from their new album, it was pretty good. They also did a cover of "I Want You to Want Me" by Cheap Trick, it was good for what it was worth, a sing-along. Then also did the obligatory yet great songs, Run-Around, But Anyway, and they closed with Hook. Then came back out for an encore, but I'm not sure what the song was.

I also found it funny that before the concert I heard "Amereeeca... Amereeeca." I thought, "Wow, are they going to edit it since quite a bit of younger people are here?"

"AMERICA, Fuck Yeah!" No, they weren't, and I was losing it at parents reactions. They also left the stage to Kim Jong Il's version of "I'm So Lonely."

They didn't play that many songs, but they would go out on massive jam sessions with their guitarist going wild and playing in a style reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix. I found it funny that during these sessions, John Popper would turn around to grab a drink and a smoke for a minute or two. he had gone through probably 7 or 8 cups by the time the concert was over.

All in all, it was a pretty good concert. Probably not the best I'll see, but it was something to see.

Go by yourself then!

Also, I honestly think it's possible to strongly dislike Coldplay's music but still somehow enjoy their live show.. They're just that good of a live band (I thought so, anyway)

Upcoming for me is..

Jason Collett (Broken Social Scene) - Sept. 27
Stars and *drumroll* Sarah's favourite band, Hey Rosetta! - Nov. 1
Jack's Mannequin - Nov. 13

From the Dearly Beloved MySpace page:

This Thursday (9/25) at Tattoo in Toronto

Whole lotta T's in that subject line ...Woo Hoo! We are returning to the stage this Thursday at Tattoo Rock Parlour in Toronto - and we are pumped. It's been a long summer of limbo for us so we hope you'll be able to join us.

We also have a major concert announcement to make regarding DB debuting LIVE south of the border in December - we'll be playing a well-known venue with a very well-known band but as of this minute we can't exactly spill the beans - soon come.

We hope y'all are well and look forward to getting back to doin what we do.

xo,
Rob / DB
