The run of emo flagbearer (whether they were willing to consent to the label or not) the Get Up Kids are coming to a close. The band has announced their final tour, which will hit both coasts and a little bit of their home territory, the Midwest.
As posted on their label Vagrant's website, the members of TGUK "will walk away friends," and move on to their various other projects. While they were together, the Lawrence, KS outfit released four proper full-lengths and two compilations for indie stalwarts Vagrant and Doghouse. Along with the last tour, TGUK's parting gift is a live record, as of yet untitled, from their "10 year anniversary show" in their hometown, which is due out on Vagrant sometime this spring.
Those final dates, with venues as of yet unannounced:
06/02 - San Francisco, CA
06/03 - Ventura, CA
06/04 - Los Angeles, CA
06/05 - Pomona, CA
06/09 - Chicago, IL
06/10 - Chicago, IL
06/11 - Detroit, MI
06/12 - Toronto, ON
06/22 - Washington, DC
06/23 - Philadelphia, PA
06/24 - New York, NY
06/25 - Worcester, MA
06/26 - Sayreville, NJ
07/02 - Kansas City, MO

they made like 2 good records and one decent one...they are all in their mid 30s I think and thats not what the get up kids were about.... it was about youth and struggles... its better they part ways friends and make better music in their side projects... they have grown out of the get up kids, and now there are plenty of bands that making the same music they made....its deffinately for the best for group members

Head has left Korn...
""KORN has parted ways with guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch, who has chosen the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end. KORN respects Brian's wishes and hopes he finds the happiness he is searching for. Jonathan, Fieldy, James, and David are personally closer than ever, and are currently in the studio working on their 8th record, the followup to their highly successful "Greatest Hits" album. The record is due to be released this September."
