it seriously doesnt work pirated. i've tried every single way possible for the last two months.

Most people use the pirated version... Not everyone is moneybags Rusty over here.

You just have a broken computer.

Maybe your computer is just slightly broken. My computer used to do that all the time.

Basically I'm just confused as to what I'm doing... I was trying to "spiff up" a picture so that the foreground stood out more than the background. My one friend suggested blurring the background and sharpening the image in the foreground but if I do that it has a rather negative effect on both sides. Another friend spouted off some complicated sounding stuff that I don't remember. Anyway I'm trying to make the picture (seen below) more effective. If you have any suggestions I'd be interested in hearing them.

First, the higher the resolution of the image, the better your results. Generally, if you have a low quality image you cannot push it very far. Always do all your work on the highest resolution possible and then scale down the image after all your work is done. Anyway, a simple vignette would probably be effective.

1. Select the lasso tool.
2. Draw a circle around the homeless people.
3. Right click, select "feather" and make your feather 100px or so. (lower if your image is small)
4. Right click, then click "select inverse"
5. Then go to the layer menu and select "New adjustment layer, levels"
6. Drag the center arrow on the levels panel to the right.

I had a math assignment due today (which I just started) that required a graphing calculator.
I don't own a graphing calculator. :wall:
