but that's about it

Because I know like 30 Japanese kanji characters, "now" and "year" being among them.

and insanely difficult! did you know the only way of learning chinese characters is by writing them over and over? you can't just hear what they sound like guess at how they're "spelt" like you do with english words. it's complete memorization.

and to think of all those people who know thousands and thousands of them...

EDIT: I can also tell it was written on July fourth. The number characters are my favorite.
