I was just in my room making my bed and I went to check on my guinea pig and he died.
I really didn't think I would be this upset because he's really old and I knew that lately he hasn't been doing so well...but I can't even go back into my room right now. I'm downstairs by myself in tears.
I've had him since Jr. High. He's the only real pet I've ever had all on my own because all the dogs and hampsters we've had have been the family pets or my sister or whatever.

No one is home right now and I don't even know what else to do...

I keep thinking that I've been in my room all day and I never noticed. Oh my god. Poor little guy.

OMG Sarah!!!!!! *giant bear hugs* That's awful and I totally know how you feel... my hamster died when no one was home yeeaars ago and I was so upset and I wondered how long he had been lying there. Awwww!!

He's at least 7 years old I think... I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight not hearing the noises he makes. And knowing why.

I'm too upset to go clean out his cage but I need to.
Oh I don't know what to do.

Sorry Sarah......that really sucks to lose a pet.

I'm scared of the day that two oldest cats (both 8) pass away........they were MY first pets that I got when I get my own place back in Minnesota.

I dunno what I'll do without Saydie and Deion.

Then stay downstairs for a little while.
Distract yourself on the CM. When you've calmed yourself enough, go upstairs and take care of your baby.

yeah, just stay here and talk with us for a while. i couldn't go to bury my pet mouse when it died. or even like....the umpteen fish i had a while back. i always had someone else do it. no guts.

So I did it.

I went to my room and found the box my prom shoes came in. Then I realized that "The Future is X Rated" wad playing and was so mad that such an inappropriate song was playing that I threw the cd behind my bed. I put on Jeff Buckley instead. Moving him into that shoebox was one of the hardest things I've ever done.
I don't think I've stopped crying since I found him and that was like 3 hours ago.

Thanks guys so much. Chewy was 8 1/2 years old which is an insanely long time to have a Guinea Pig. I've gotta go to work which will be interesting since I got like no sleep. But thats okay. I think I need to get out of my house and not think about it for a while.
